75 YEARS ON: THE 8th King's Royal Irish Hussars in Korea
Remembering the 8th Hussars who fought valiantly during the Korean War.
This year marks 75 years of the 8th Hussars in Korea and as part of Heritage Open Days 2026, we will be exploring their experiences and actions in this campaign.
The talk will draw on a fascinating range of material from the Museum archive and reserve collection. A selection of these original archival items will be on display during the evening, with further material featured in our temporary exhibition. We are especially pleased to welcome serving officers of The Queen's Royal Hussars, who will be leading the talk and using these sources to explore the experiences of the Regiment in Korea and the stories behind the surviving historical record.
Tickets available at £14pp at, The Lord Leycester Hospital, The Visitor Information Centre, Eventbrite, or by contacting the museum direct for this bespoke event which includes before and after hours entry to the museum, with wine, soft drinks and nibbles.
