The 75 Engineer Regiment football team recently took part in a charity match against Stringerz FC, raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Despite a tough 5–2 loss, there was a standout moment as SSgt Booth, from 106 Field Squadron, scored an absolute worldie from a free kick (attached in comments).

A great cause, a great effort, and the 75 team will be back next year looking to lift the trophy πŸ†.

The Army Reserve has plenty of sporting opportunities available. If this is something you’re interested in, then get in touch with our recruitment team via the link in our bio.

The first regimental training weekend of the new training year saw our reservists deploy to Cumbria on Ex YPRES WARRIOR.

Troops were given the opportunity to get hands on with the MGOB, improving their familiarity and skill with bridging and developing the mobility capability for the brigade.

Drivers and Plant Operators from 75 Engineer Regiment deployed to Ellington Banks Training Area, Ripon last month, developing their skills for their support role.

Training consisted of cross country driving, operating machinery, and moving loads both in day and night.

A wide range of vehicles and machinery were employed to develop new skills and maintain existing ones.

Additionally, personnel wore odd socks under their boots to raise awareness for Down Syndrome, as part of World Down Syndrome Day on the 21st March.

Building on the lessons from the Slinger/Signaller Lifting Operations course, reservists from 75 Engineer Regiment have recently qualified on the Supervisor Lifting Operations course.

The course covered advanced planning and management skills, including calculating crane outrigger loads, identifying hazards, environmental effects on lifting, and briefing the lift team on the task at hand.

Having personnel qualified on the course further develops the combat support lift capability of the regiment and wider brigade.

The Army Reserve has plenty of opportunities for professional development. If this is something that interests you, then get in touch with our recruitment team via the link in our bio.

Reservists from 75 Engineer Regiment recently deployed to northern France on Ex GAULISH, a two-week urban warfare exercise in collaboration with the French Army πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡«πŸ‡·.

Attached to 1 LANCS, our sappers gained a valuable insight into how their French counterparts operated, and had the opportunity to practise moving with armour, breaching in an urban environment, and preparing urban defences.

The exercise culminated with a realistic four-day field exercise, that made use of simulation systems, armoured vehicles, anti-tank weapons, and drones.

Exercises like these develop bilateral relationships with allies, and improve interoperability for future operations.

There are plenty of deployment and travel opportunities in the Army Reserve. If this looks like something you’d be interested in, then get in touch with our recruitment team via the link in our bio.

Last weekend, reservists from 75 Engineer Regiment qualified and re-qualified on the Slinger/Signaller Operations Course.

Successful completion of the course by WO2 Wilson, Cpl Gee, Cpl Stinton, and A/LCpl Sanders enables the regiment to provide a combat support lift capability for brigade-level operations, essential for mobility tasks.

Next weekend sees our reservists progress on to the Supervisor Lifting Operations Course.

There are many opportunities to learn new skills in the Army Reserve, and we are dedicated to developing our people. If these are the sorts of opportunities you’re interested in, then contact our recruitment team via the link in our bio.

Recently, a team of reservists from 350 Field Squadron, based in Nottinghamshire, travelled to support Army Cadet Force HQ Centre (East Midlands) at DTE Beckingham in Lincolnshire as part of a Senior Cadet Cadre, focusing on leadership, teamwork, and personal development for members of the Army Cadet Force (ACF).

Two of the engagement team are enroled as volunteer STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) ambassadors, which saw them challenging the senior cadets during activities such as designing and building a working catapult, encouraging teamwork and healthy competition.

Col Chris Doyle (Colonel Cadets for HQ Centre), said β€œThis weekend showed the strength of our region, with cadets and volunteers working positively together and supporting one another - a real team effort that made the training such a success.”

The Army Reserve has plenty of options for community engagement and STEM activities. If you’d like to get involved, get in touch with our recruitment team via the link in our bio.

Last week, Nottinghamshire-based 350 Field Squadron, were living in the present, remembering the past and looking into the future.

The squadron received an update on foreign doctrine from 533 Section - 53 Company Military Intelligence, who are co-located with our troop at Wallis Barracks, Chesterfield. Learning about other nations’ doctrine enables our sappers and officers to understand the modern battlefield and train accordingly.

Afterwards the squadron said farewell to one of our Permanent Staff Instructors (PSI), Cpl P, who leaves on a well-deserved promotion to Sergeant.

The sandbags were then pulled up as the Chesterfield branch of the Royal Engineers Association joined for light refreshments in the unit bar.
