Congratulations to our newly elected Chair of Birchwood Town Council for 2026/27, Councillor David Ellis, who was elected during the Annual Council Meeting on Tuesday 26th May 2026. We look forward to working together to serve the community of Birchwood.

Councillor Julie Brereton was elected as Vice-Chair.

Pictured is Councillor Nigel Reeves, Chair of the Council for 2025/26 handing over the Chain of Office to Cllr Ellis. The Town Council would like to thank Cllr Reeves for his hard work, commitment and support during his time as Chair, along with the outgoing Vice-Chair, Councillor Jacquie Sheridan.

Birchwood Town Council is proud to once again sponsor the Birchwood Carnival. This year it will take place on Sunday 7th June at Birchwood Forest park. If you are part of a local group or organisation and would like to walk in the fancy dress procession, please email us at [email protected]

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE BOROUGH OF WARRINGTON (BIRCHWOOD WAY, BIRCHWOOD) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING)
TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Council made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 21st August 2025. The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Birchwood Way from its junction with Moss Gate to the M62 Junction 11.

The Order was effective from 1st September 2025 for 24 weeks, between 9pm and 5am. The works were subsequently delayed until 5th January 2026, however they are now required to remain in place until 6th September 2026, as and when signed on site. The access, alternative route and reason for the works remains the same as previously advertised.

Warrington East Police will be at Birchwood Shopping Centre Tomorrow, Tuesday 19th May at 1pm, with their knife surrender bin if you have any unwanted knives you would like to safely dispose of.

Officers will be at the following locations this week as part of Operation Sceptre. We will have the knife surrender bin with us so if you have any unwanted or unused knives you would like to dispose of safely then please come and see us:
