Join as a cadet...

So, are you ready to take the first step towards all the opportunities and benefits that the air cadets can offer you? It's important to know that we're not a recruiting organisation for the Services (but it's great if you decide you want to join later on). We're not interested in anything but you and your potential, and will help you get the most from your experience as a cade

t. Equality is a central part of the Air Cadets’ ethic. The cadet experience is open to everyone, so whatever your nationality, background or ability, whether you're male or female, if you're between 13 and 17 years old you can join us. The maximum age for entry is 17 years old, therefore you can request to join us anytime between your 13th and 18th birthday. If you don't fit into that age group and still want to enjoy all of our activities and more, you could join as a volunteer. Aside from flying, sports, target shooting, adventure training and great fun? You’ll soon find that being an air cadet is its own reward - you constantly see the benefits of your own efforts, building on your achievements and earning BTECs and DoE Awards. You'll be expected to take part in as many of the activities we run as possible, but with what's on offer you won't need much persuading! We have high standards to maintain as we are a 'military' youth organisation and you'll naturally take pride in your uniform (we supply that) and appearance. You'll be well mannered and self-disciplined. You'll be joining an organisation of which you’ll be very proud. What are you waiting for???

Last Thursday, our cadets had the opportunity to try something a little different as FS Warburton led an evening of line dancing at the Squadron.

It was a fantastic evening full of laughter, teamwork, and plenty of energy. The cadets threw themselves into the activity and embraced the challenge with great enthusiasm.

One of the best things about being part of 1330 is the variety of experiences on offer, and this was certainly a night to remember!

A huge thank you to FS Warburton for giving up their time and delivering such an enjoyable session.

On Thursday evening, we said goodbye to CI Elliot Barker as he leaves 1330 (Warrington) Squadron to begin his career in the Royal Air Force.

Elliot’s journey with 1330 spans 8 years and 9 months, starting as a cadet and progressing to become our Cadet Warrant Officer, before returning as a Civilian Instructor to give back to the Squadron that helped shape him.

Throughout his time with us, Elliot has been a role model to countless cadets, demonstrating the values of respect, integrity, service and excellence. Whether as a senior cadet leading from the front or as a member of staff supporting the next generation, he has made a lasting impact on the Squadron.

While we are sorry to see him go, we couldn’t be prouder of what he has achieved. Joining the Royal Air Force is a tremendous accomplishment and one that reflects years of hard work, dedication, and determination.

On behalf of everyone at 1330, thank you for everything you have done for the Squadron. We wish you every success in your RAF career and look forward to following your journey in the years ahead.

This week, cadets from 1330 (Warrington) Squadron were proud to support the Warrington 10K, helping ensure another fantastic event for our local community.

Our cadets assisted throughout the evening, supporting runners and providing encouragement to participants as they took on the challenge. It was a great opportunity to give back to the community whilst demonstrating the teamwork, professionalism, and community spirit that our cadets are known for.

A huge well done to all the runners who took part and to our cadets who volunteered their time to support the event.

Over the weekend, a group of our cadets took part in an Advanced Adventurous Training Weekend, pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones and embracing some truly challenging activities.

The highlight of the weekend was tackling the Via Ferrata Extreme route, testing their nerve, resilience, and determination as they traversed high above the valley floor. Cadets also took part in a wet ghyll scramble, climbing waterfalls, navigating fast-flowing streams, and working together to overcome a series of demanding natural obstacles.

Weekends like this is what 1330 and the Royal Air Force Air Cadets is all about, providing adventure, building confidence, developing resilience, and creating memories that last a lifetime.

A huge well done to everyone who took part.

What a fantastic evening at the inaugural “1330 @ The Movies” concert, held at Christ Church Padgate. Featuring performances from Warrington Brass, vocalist Katelyn Pratt, and our very own 1330 Squadron Choir, the evening celebrated some of the most iconic music from the silver screen.

Our squadron choir were absolutely outstanding. Their performances demonstrated not only talent and confidence, but also the willingness of our cadets to step outside their comfort zones and perform in front of a packed audience. We couldn’t be prouder of every cadet who took to the stage.

A huge thank you must go to Warrington Brass, who were superb throughout the evening. Their performance was, as always, of the highest standard and helped make the event such a memorable occasion. Special thanks also to Katelyn Pratt, whose solo performances were exceptional, and to our presenters, Cadet Sergeants Oliver Wallace-Dean and Ailsa Cowan, who guided us through the evening brilliantly.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event. Concerts like these showcase the incredible breadth of opportunities available at 1330 and the remarkable young people who make our Squadron what it is.

A wonderful evening of music, entertainment and community spirit. Well done to everyone involved.

Last Thursday, at a ceremony in Chester Cathedral, members of 1330 (Warrington) Squadron were recognised by the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire for their outstanding service and commitment.

We are delighted to share that the staff team of 1330 Squadron received the Lord-Lieutenant’s Team Commendation, recognising the collective effort, dedication and countless volunteer hours that go into providing opportunities for our cadets. This award belongs to every member of the team who gives their time to make 1330 what it is.

We were also incredibly proud to see Cadet Warrant Officer Harry White receive the Lord-Lieutenant’s Award for Endeavour, recognising the commitment and leadership to the squadron

This weekend, cadets from 1330 (Warrington) Squadron were out on expedition as part of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme.

Our Bronze teams were completing their qualifying expedition, while our Silver teams were undertaking their practice expedition in preparation for their assessment later this year.

Carrying everything they needed, navigating unfamiliar routes, working as a team and overcoming the inevitable challenges along the way, our cadets demonstrated resilience, determination and independence throughout.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award remains one of the most rewarding opportunities available to young people, developing confidence, leadership and life skills that will stay with them for life.

A huge well done to all the cadets who took part, and thank you to the staff who gave up their weekend to make it possible.

This week, Cpl Sweeney attended Buckingham Palace for the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award celebration, an absolutely outstanding and unforgettable experience.

Achieving Gold DofE is no small feat and reflects his commitment, resilience, volunteering, physical activity, expedition work and personal development over the last year. It is a tremendous achievement and one we are proud to see recognised on such a special occasion.

A huge congratulations once again to Cpl Sweeney on an exceptional achievement and for continuing to represent 1330 in such a positive way.
