We're delighted to share that North Cheshire and Mersey has been shortlisted for the Most Open Culture Award at the Menopause and Menstruation Friendly Employers Awards 2026.

This national recognition celebrates the work of our Women's Staff Network, menopause cafΓ©s, menopause advocates and colleagues across the trust who have helped create a workplace where people feel safe, supported and able to talk openly about menopause.

Being named alongside organisations including American Express, HSBC and QVC is a fantastic achievement and reflects our commitment to supporting our people.

Thank you to everyone involved and good luck at the awards on 16 September πŸ’™

When community district nurse Jade Ward came across a serious road traffic collision, she did not hesitate to help.

Finding the driver trapped inside their vehicle and in urgent need of medical attention, Jade climbed through a partially open sunroof to reach them. She provided care, reassurance and support before helping them safely from the vehicle and staying by their side until paramedics arrived.

Although only in her first year as a qualified nurse at the time, Jade's courage, compassion and calmness made a huge difference during a frightening situation.

Earlier this year, Jade received a trust Thank You Award in recognition of this extraordinary act of kindness and the care she shows every day.

Thank you Jade πŸ’™

We were proud to join colleagues from across Halton at a wellbeing and cancer screening event organised by Runcorn Primary Care Network (PCN) for people with learning disabilities, their families and carers.

The event provided a safe and welcoming space to learn more about bowel, cervical and breast screening, ask questions and access health information in an easy-to-understand way.

A range of health and wellbeing stalls were available throughout the day, helping people find out more about local services and support.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event a success. Together, we can help more people access screening and make informed choices about their health πŸ’™

What if someone helped you see what's possible?

When Andrew joined the Your Future Your Way programme, he hoped to build his confidence and explore new opportunities.

As a diagnostic radiographer, the experience helped him recognise his potential and think differently about his future.

πŸ’¬ "It has motivated me and made me more aware that this is something I can do and it's something that I am keen to do."

Your Future Your Way supports colleagues from ethnically diverse backgrounds to develop their skills, confidence and ambitions.

Watch Andrew's story and discover how the programme helped shape his aspirations for the future. πŸŽ₯

Kinda proud to work in the NHS πŸ’™

It's easy to think healthcare is all about treatment.

But often it's the small things that people remember most. A friendly face, a bit of reassurance, someone taking the time to listen.

And we think that’s pretty special 🫢
