Garden looking pretty plain? Here’s a tip… just add HEIGHT! ⬆️ ⬆️ ⬆️

Statues, screens, trees, pergolas, tall planting, planters, water features… the list goes on. Without height your garden will be left pretty well, FLAT!

And don’t be afraid to bring that height into the middle too. You don’t need to see all of your garden once.

What’s your favourite way to add height?

Starting can sometimes be the hardest thing 🤷🏼‍♀️ The blank canvas can be daunting. But this is actually my favourite part 😃

So to start out I take an aerial view of the garden and its boundaries and map out my preferred location for different types of space. Don’t be afraid to play around with different sizes and shapes of spaces; a lot about garden design is based is geometry and how different shapes work together.

So this part can be fun, but it has to be done with consideration for a few things. One of the main ones is the sun exposure ☀️ Really think about how much sun exposure you’d like in certain spaces. For instance would you be happy eating in full sun?

If you’d like to have a go at designing your own garden have a free version that you can have a go with. 💚

PLEASE 🙏🏻… Don’t fall into that trap of contacting your landscaper weeks before you want the job doing.

Spring/summer is the busiest time in this field. It can honestly be so overwhelming dealing with the amount of enquiries that come in that time of year that inevitably some will get missed.

Demand will always vary like in any industry BUT…Believe me, those high quality landscapers that you need will not be as interested in your job if you contact them in April/May wanting your garden finished for June.

If you want my advice, contact them in Autumn/Winter and be flexible on your timeframe.

It’s always better in the long run to hire the better contractor than it is to hire someone who can meet your schedule 😊

Have I forgotten any? Pretty sure there’s more! 😂

Are those estimates coming in at more than you thought? Like most things nowadays…landscaping costs.

Initially you might feel like you’ve been ripped off. It’s just labour and materials right? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Well unfortunately no. There’s so much more costs involved in running a professional landscaping business than meets the eye. Particularly if they’re working to a high standard.

⏩ SWIPE TO THE END FOR NEW DEVELOPMENTS ⏩

It’s been a long journey to here but I’ve learnt so much along the way! 💚

I’ve always loved being creative, but now I get to do it whilst helping clients and their families improve their lifestyle 😃

When I first entered the industry, I realized how vulnerable the public were to poor workmanship in the landscaping industry. With little to no formal standards and no professional site visits, as is the case with building work, it can be difficult as the homeowner to know if you’re getting a good standard of work.

That’s where I can help. I can bring together my knowledge of design to provide personal inspiration, whilst also advising on what to expect from your build process/contractor.

Our business has always sort to refine our practice and work to current guidance and standards. Meaning I have up to date knowledge to pass on to you.

If you’d like my assistance in achieving your garden makeover, just send me a message and we can go from there 😊 🏡 🌳

With or without the water troughs? I love the peace and tranquility that water brings. It just oozes elegance ☺️ But practically speaking my dog would be taking a dip in it! 😂 Would you be brave enough to add these or would you play it safe?
