WECA is a registered charity, government and local council approved organisation operating in Warrington. It was formed in January 2004 to act as an umbrella body for 'grassroots', community and voluntary ethnic groups in Warrington. WECA represents culturally diverse groups at strategic and community level. It works with both statutory and non-statutory services to identify needs and advocates wi

shes and changes of Warrington's ethnic communities. WECA's widely known across Warrington and the North West for organising the yearly cultural festival known as the 'Mela'. This major event brings together different communities to celebrate music, dance, entertainment and food of different cultures. It's the most happening, inspiring and popular event for the whole community!

A colourful celebration of Warrington’s different cultures and communities will take place in Palmyra Square on Sunday 29th July, at Warrington MELA 2018.

The day will consist of Bhangra Dancing, African Drummers, Polish & Russian dancing, local singers & dancers, Tabla performance & Bollywood Music performed in Queens Gardens. There will also be the opportunity to sample local cuisine from around the world and plenty to keep the kids occupied.
