McDonalds' application to open the Omega outlet 24/7 was refused by the Council, and the Planning Inspectorate has now dismissed their appeal against the refusal. It was partly a technical issue (any present or future outlets on Omega would have been able to open all hours) but previous anti-social behaviour on the car park and other issues led the Planning Inspector to conclude that the planning condition restricting hours is necessary to ensure a satisfactory standard of local residential amenity.

Fallen Tree Nansen Close, Old Hall

We informed Warrington Borough Council over the weekend of a fallen tree blocking a footpath in Nansen Close, Old Hall.

The Council's Out of Hours Tree Team undertook works over the weekend to make the tree safe. The tree is not council owned and the arisings have been left for the tree owner to clear.

Thanks to Warrington Borough Council and the Tree Team for clearing the path and making the area safe.

Thank You!
Many, many thanks, once again, to everyone who donated to Warrington Foodbank at Sainsbury's this morning!

At a time when there are reports of increasing division in our country, the kindness, positive comments and conversations and generosity to others that take place during the monthly collections are uplifting and a much better representation of our society.

The generous donations will be collected by the Foodbank team and distributed to those in need who are referred to them from across Warrington.
Thank you for your continued kindness and support!

Apart from the current evening road closures around Cromwell Avenue from Westbrook to Sankey Way, the major one coming up in June will close Cromwell Avenue from Westbrook to Calver Road and Winwick Road - so long diversions via Winwick Road and Sankey Way, or via the M62. This will be from 15th June for 4 weeks, between 7pm and 1am, covering the following:

Cromwell Avenue from its junction with Calver Road to its junction with Europa Boulevard (adjacent to Ikea/Aldi/Arnold Clark); Europa Boulevard from its junction with Cromwell Avenue/Callands Road for 75 metres in a northeasterly direction; Callands Road from its junction with Cromwell Avenue/Europa Boulevard to its junction with St. Asaph Drive.

One hopes this will deal with some of the roads in the area where pothole repairs keep having to be repeated.
