The Civic Centre is a bright and modern building which includes both a Changing Places toilet and a disabled toilet that meet the highest standards for those with disabilities. Directly outside the Centre is the Western Car Park, accessed from Sambourne Road, which provides ample parking including nine disabled parking spaces in which badge holders can park all day free of charge. The multifunctional Civic Centre is suitable for each and every type of business or leisure needs, and the three separate generous-sized rooms can be combined to cater for larger events. It has a fully licensed bar, an entertainment licence and can cater for up to 240 people seated. There is a kitchen and catering facilities, and a list of recommended caterers is available. The spacious foyer with its coffee bar provides a relaxing environment in which to enjoy a refreshing drink after one of the many exercise classes that take place each week. The following equipment is available for meetings and events at no extra cost: flipcharts, PA system, projectors and screens. Warminster Town Councilโ€™s grounds team have collected and stored a large amount of unclaimed lost property from the splash pad during a busy summer season.

The items have been washed and can be collected from Warminster Civic Centre (Sambourne Road, Warminster, BA12 8LB) between 9am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

To claim an item, describe it to a member of staff, who will check the collection. Any items not claimed by Wednesday 30th September will be donated to a local charity.

Warminsterโ€™s splash pad will close at 6pm on Friday 18th September after a busy summer in which it welcomed tens of thousands of visitors.

The outdoor water play area at the Lake Pleasure Grounds (Weymouth Street, Warminster, BA12 9NP) has been open daily from 10am to 6pm since Friday 24th April. This was an hour longer than in previous years, giving residents and visitors more time to enjoy the facility.

Around 90,000 people have visited the park since the splash pad reopened in 2026, with attendance reaching a peak of more than 3,450 on Wednesday 12th August.

Prize winners from across the town have been celebrated following the success of Roarminster.

Cllr Jack Jones selected the winners on Monday 7th September from hundreds of entries received during the summer celebration.

Colin Pearce (pictured) won the ยฃ500 top prize in the Roarminster Loyalty Card draw, supported by 50 local retailers. Cllr Jack Jones and Cllr Liz Lee presented him with a voucher to spend at participating businesses.

A Warminster Town Council spokesperson said: โ€œCongratulations to all our winners. We are delighted that so many people took part, explored our wonderful town and supported local businesses.

โ€œThese were our most popular competitions yet, showing how enthusiastically the community embraced Roarminster. Watch this spaceโ€”we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another event next summer.โ€

Austin Andrew won the Roarminster Word Scramble and received a LEGO 3-in-1 dinosaur set. Harper Maple placed second and Alex Donovan third.

Sammy Peach won the Name the Baby Dinosaur competition with โ€œDino-Miteโ€, while Reece won the Guess How Many Sweets competition with the closest guess to the total of 365.

Warminster Town Councilโ€™s free dinosaur trail, featuring six models at five locations, proved a roaring success.

Local businesses supported the event, generating excitement as Warminster became Roarminster while increasing spending and positive publicity for the town.

A handmade hedgehog house has been donated to Warminster Town Council for the Lake Pleasure Grounds.

Farnfields Solicitors, based at 37 High Street, Warminster, BA12 9AJ, and with offices in Gillingham and Shaftesbury, is marking its 90th anniversary by supporting environmental responsibility and community wellbeing.

In partnership with the Men's Shed in Sturminster Newton, the firm has created handmade wildlife habitats, including bird boxes, bug hotels and hedgehog houses.

Matthew Dunford of Farnfields Solicitors presented a new hedgehog house to Kevin Whitehorn, Estates Manager; Cllr Stacie Allensby, Chair of the Parks & Estate Committee; and James Sully of Warminster Town Council's Grounds Team on Tuesday 8th September.

Estates Manager Kevin Whitehorn said: โ€œThis is a lovely idea. Weโ€™re delighted to accept this new hedgehog house as we continue to work alongside local businesses to improve our community spaces.โ€

A Farnfields Solicitors spokesperson added: โ€œWe hope these small habitats bring joy to the outdoor space and help local wildlife thrive.โ€

The hedgehog house is now securely installed in Elizabeth Collyns Garden within the Lake Pleasure Grounds (Weymouth Street, Warminster, BA12 9NP).

A Warminster Town Council spokesperson said: โ€œWe are delighted to have enjoyed another successful season, with the splash pad proving a major draw for Warminster throughout the summer โ€“ especially during the heatwaves with our dedicated team keeping the facility open.

โ€œLoved by locals and visitors, it has been fantastic to see thousands of people enjoying this community asset. We also thank the public for respecting the rules. The splash pad will return in 2027, with exciting plans to be announced soon.โ€

The splash pad, which features several water attractions, has drawn thousands of visitors since opening in 2022.

Cllr Stacie Allensby, Chair of the Parks & Estate Committee, added: โ€œWe are delighted that so many people were able to enjoy the splash pad over the summer.

โ€œIt remains a brilliant and welcome addition to the park, and we continue to receive positive feedback from local families and visitors from further afield. We look forward to reopening it next year.โ€

Families can still enjoy plenty more at the Lake Pleasure Grounds, including the Pumpkins in the Park event on Wednesday 28th October.

The tennis and pickleball courts also remain open. Visitors can book a court by registering with the LTA and booking online through Clubspark before visiting.

Warminster Town Council is reminding residents that they can donate unwanted technology to Wiltshire Digital Drive (WDD) to support people in need.

Devices can be dropped off at Warminster Civic Centre (Sambourne Road, Warminster, BA12 8LB), from 9am to 4.30pm. WDD refurbishes and redistributes them to schools, charities and voluntary organisations.

The Civic Centre accepts unwanted laptops and tablets for collection by WDD. Smartphones are distributed through WDD partner organisations. Please check the required specifications before donating any device for recycling.

Warminster Town Councilโ€™s free dinosaur trail, featuring six models across five locations, has been a roaring success, and the much-loved dinosaurs have now left the town.

The trail encouraged thousands of visitors and residents to get involved by finding each dinosaur, entering the word scramble prize draw and enjoying dinosaur-themed activities throughout the summer holidays.

Local businesses worked together to support the event, creating a "real buzz" around the town as Warminster became Roarminster, bringing in extra spending and positive publicity.

Warminster Town Council has launched an immediate investigation into damage to the Roarminster dinosaurs.

We thank the public for bringing this to our attention and are acting quickly to identify those responsible.

Warminster CCTV is reviewing the incident, while the Town Council grounds team is checking and securing each dinosaur. Some of the dinosaurs will be removed today by City Dressing.

Roarminster has been an incredible success, encouraging thousands of people to visit our town.

Anyone with information about the damage is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101 quoting reference 54260108157.
