🌟 Calling all young writers and readers! 🌟

Join local author Anne-Marie Stone on Saturday 5 September at 11:00am to learn all about her debut novel, Starfox.

Take part in a fun mini workshop and discover how stories can be built from just three words. Using words like "trousers", "aliens", and "shadow", Anne-Marie will show you how imagination can turn simple ideas into exciting adventures!

Come along, get inspired, and create your own story ideas.

Great fun was had by all at Wareham Library this morning for our Summer Reading Challenge LEGO special! 🎵🧱

There were LEGO bricks everywhere and plenty of excited chatter as children created carnival scenes, concert halls and musical instruments. We also designed our own LEGO musician minifigures. 🙂

A perfect way to stay dry on a rainy bank holiday weekend!

Special mentions go to Samuel, who built an impressive concert stunt stage complete with moving cameras, and to one of our parents, who created a fantastic drum kit and xylophone.

🐦 Celebrating Local Connections🐦

The staff from Wareham Library recently enjoyed a visit to the RSPB Arne Nature Reserve to learn more about this wonderful local attraction and gather information for our customers. As there is currently no Tourist Information Centre in Wareham, we are often asked about places to visit and things to do in the local area.

During our visit, we took part in a guided tour of the reserve and learned about the range of facilities available, including binoculars that visitors can hire for the day. We had a lovely time exploring the reserve and discovering its diverse wildlife.

Among the highlights of our trip were spotting a baby robin and a spoonbill, as well as watching the Sika deer grazing peacefully in their natural habitat.

Why not take a look at our display all about RSPB Arne? It is packed with information about the reserve and the amazing wildlife that can be found there. See if you can identify the different animals that call the nature reserve home!

🎵🌟 Well done to all our marvellous makers who created musical instruments using recycled materials! 🌟🎵

From tambourines and shakers to drums and guitars, there was no shortage of creativity. The children used bright colours and lots of fantastic decorations to make their instruments truly unique.

Now they're all set to become rock stars and create some amazing sounds! 🎸🥁🎶

☀️ Thankyou to Wareham Museum for creating another brilliant event☀️
The Roman pot making event was very popular and great fun was had by all, it was good to see everyone getting stuck in and working together to make amazing creations and learn new skills.
The money raised at this event will go towards the upkeep of the museum and allow them to continue to do all their brilliant work.

Written for teenagers and young adults, Starfox is a powerful story of resilience, friendship, and joining forces to become stronger in the face of challenges.
Anne-Marie will also lead a mini creative writing workshop, sharing tips on how to develop story ideas and turn them into engaging stories. Perfect for aspiring writers and anyone interested in the creative process.
