Today we’re celebrating 30 years at Monkey World for Semach! 🎉🐒

Along with Hananya, Semach was smuggled into Israel for the illegal pet trade. He was later confiscated by Israeli authorities from the home of a drug addict.

🎉 30 Years at Monkey World! 🎉

Hananya is a male chimpanzee who was smuggled into Israel for the illegal pet trade. He arrived at Monkey World in 1996, on this day, alongside Semach!

In 2004, Hananya became the dominant male of his group. He is very protective of his family and is a wonderful role model for the younger members of his group.

This week’s Sunday Silhouette is… AMY! 🦧

Born in 1983, Amy has been part of the Monkey World family since the park first opened its doors in 1987! 💚

Born here in Britain, Amy went on to give birth to Gordon in 1997, and the pair still live together at Monkey World today, alongside Hsiao-Lan. 🥰

🦧 Here’s a fantastic picture of Kiwi and Sibu, taken by PCS Lina! 📸

The pair are now able to spend lots of time playing with the older members of the nursery, which is helping them learn all the important skills they need! 🧡

From climbing and playing to learning from the older youngsters, this time spent together is a really important part of their development. 🌿
