In April, Walsall FC Foundation welcomed the Afghan Community & Welfare Centre to a football session and shared meal through our Saddlers United project, with over 50 participants coming together to enjoy sport, friendship and community connections.

Recently relaunched for the 2025/26 season, Saddlers United is helping Walsall FC and Walsall FC Foundation continue their commitment to building a more inclusive and welcoming football club for everyone. The project brings together a steering group of community leaders representing diverse communities and social enterprise organisations from across the borough.

This work supports the WAW2040 ambition by celebrating diversity, strengthening community relationships, and creating opportunities for people from all backgrounds to feel valued, connected and proud of our borough. ❤️🖤

In 2025, Walsall FC Foundation delivered 250 Premier League Kicks sessions, providing children and young people with access to football in a fun, safe and supportive environment. 💚

The programme uses the power of football to help build confidence, improve wellbeing, develop friendships and create positive opportunities for young people across the borough, particularly in some of the country's highest-need communities.

Through the Beat the Block programme, participants have seen a remarkable 90% improvement in mental wellbeing, while also enjoying the unique opportunity to play on the iconic Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium pitch.

Held every Thursday, Beat the Block provides a dedicated one-hour football session, alongside a 30-minute social session beforehand where participants can chat with coaches, fellow attendees and mental health professionals in a safe, friendly and welcoming environment.
