Did you spot us last night? 👀

Earlier this year, we had the privilege of welcoming Tim Shaw and the Car SOS film crew to base, as well as Arrowe Brook Farm where they joined us during a training session to learn more about Lowland Rescue and the kit and equipment we rely on.

This all fed into an incredible project, restoring a 26-year-old Land Rover Defender for Sean McCarry and Community Rescue Service in Northern Ireland.

Last night, the team invited family to base for a buffet watch party. Not just to enjoy the episode together, but to say thank you for the support, the missed plans, and the understanding when we drop everything at a moment’s notice, 24/7.

You can catch it all in Season 14, Episode 8. Keep an eye out and you’ll spot us in action alongside Warwickshire Search and Rescue with their Defender (which since filming has also had a lovely refurb!), as well as learning more about the work that Lowland Rescue teams across the country do.

We’re especially proud to have played a small part in such a fantastic project for an outstanding cause and an absolute legend of a man, Sean. 👏💚

👀 Tune in, this Thursday at 8pm!

SO WHAT'S UNDER THE BONNET...

This coming Thursday, 30th April at 8pm, one of the oldest Land Rover Defenders from across Lowland Rescue is featured on a new episode of the National Geographic channel's series "Car SOS".

Tim Shaw and Fuzz Townshend visited with colleagues from CRS and we have to say, prepare to be amazed at the end.

This will be a great watch not only for the car enthusiasts amongst us but also for all our wonderful volunteers and supporters, as the programme really highlights the work of Lowland Rescue.

This evening, the team headed to Siding Lane, Rainford for their weekly training session.

Despite the rain, the team got stuck in, putting their skills to the test focusing on hasty and corridor search techniques.

Teams also focused on identifying key areas of interest, planning effective routes, and assessing hazardous locations throughout the exercise.

All strategically placed items were successfully located 👏

👮 CHIEF CONSTABLE'S COMMENDATION

Wow — we’re still awaiting the official photos, but we couldn’t wait to share this news.

Today, 10 team members attended the Chief Constable’s Commendation Ceremony, where we were recognised by Chief Constable Robert Carden for our voluntary work.

We were just one of many very well-deserved commendations presented across Merseyside Police today, highlighting the incredible work taking place across the force and its partners.

Our role in numerous high-risk missing person searches was highlighted, from helping bring closure to families to saving lives.

It was also recognised how we can support during major incidents, including the M53 coach crash, where our volunteers assisted at the scene and later supported operations at the Emergency Services Training Centre, helping with casualty triage in the Trauma Suite for the Hyperbaric Facility located within.

It was also noted how far the team has come over the past five years, reflecting the excellent leadership, dedication, professionalism and growth of our volunteers.

We are incredibly proud of the work we do. We couldn’t be more thankful to those who nominated us, the board for selecting us, and of course, the Chief Constable for approving this extraordinary award.

We’re incredibly proud of the whole team — this recognition is thoroughly deserved.

⛑️ Currently, the team are busy working through some first aid and medical refreshers, keeping skills sharp and knowledge right where it needs to be when it matters most.

Yesterday evening also gave us a great excuse to pause and celebrate two big milestones… wishing Dave (Chair & Lowland Rescue Incident Commander) a very happy 60th birthday, and Tom (Vice Chair & Lowland Rescue Incident Commander) a very happy 30th birthday! 🎉

Of course, no team celebration is complete without cake… and not just any cake. We kept it strictly to one supermarket with Giggles the Caterpillar and Wiggles the Caterpillar 🐛

We thought it best to stick to one brand—purely to avoid any potential legal drama… we’ve all seen how serious a caterpillar cake dispute can get 👀😄
