Carers Wakefield & District We offer free and confidential information and support service to adults and young carers from age 17 Are you a carer?

Do you give support to member/s of your family, a partner or friend who has an illness, disability, learning disability, is frail/elderly or has a mental health condition? For example, caring for your parent, son,daughter, partner of friend. If so we can offer free and confidential information and support service to adults and young carers from age 18 living in the Wakefield Council area

As you will see from the pictures there were lots of people that helped make it a huge success.

Yesterday, Carers from our Pontefract and Castleford Group went to Riverside Paint a Pot at The Queens Mill in Castleford to celebrate Carers Week.

Quick Reminder -

Information event - Wednesday 10th June (tomorrow) has now been cancelled.

Alternatively we have -

Carers Awareness Workshop next Tuesday (16th June) 10am-1pm at St Marys Community Centre.
Alzheimer's, Prince of Wales Hospice, Live Well and TEC Awareness will be there and there will be refreshments and a light buffet available as well.

Learning Disability Event - Friday 19th June - 10am-2pm - West Wakefield Methodist Church.
Information on Wills and Powers of Attorney as well as organisations such as DIAL will be there. We will also have free relaxation therapies and lunch available as well.

Care Home Carers Group

Today they took the barge from Stanley Ferry as part of our celebrations for Carers Week.

Carers Week is next week but throughout June our groups will doing something a little more special to celebrate and thank our Carers for all they do.

Thanks to Best Yorkshire Boating for a lovely day out.
