St Issey Church of England Primary School

St Issey Church of England Primary School Be strong and courageous. We pride ourselves on offering an exciting, stimulating learning experience both in the class and outside.

St Issey is a Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School with a close working relationship with the local Diocese. We regularly attend church and local clergy take assemblies. We are situated in the heart of the village surrounded by a beautiful landscape that helps us with our learning. We strongly believe that our curriculum must have a balance with outdoor exploration and indoor learning and that it is vital to a young child’s holistic development. Our ethos is based upon Christian values and beliefs. We value each child as an individual and encourage them to become responsible and caring members of the community. We live by our Mission Statement:

"Working to achieve success by living and learning together within a Christian community”

Elves Class have tackled a part of the Saints Way this week, taking on a 7 mile hike from St Breock Monolith all the way to Lanivet. They were all incredible, kept going over some tough terrain and showed strength and courage by the bucket load! We will complete the other part of the Saints Way later on in the year, which means our Year 6 children will be able to say they have all travelled along the Saints Way and completed their own pilgrimage along the route!!!! Well done Elves!

Year 6 have had a great evening at Macdonald's Farm. Delicious food, football, trampolines, a short talent show and plenty of giggles. But after our 7 mile Saints Way walk today they are exhausted and all in tents and ready for sleep. Let's hope the rain stays away overnight!

Y3 are showing how strong and courageous they are this evening as they withstand the elements on camp. They had a good chippy tea before burning it all off in the playground.
