🚨 Fire Call 🚨 15:41 on 19.04.26 - Mobilised to Somerley Waste Recycling Centre. With back up from Ringwood Fire Station and Springbourne Fire Station, the incident was quickly under control and extinguished.

We were called to the Sandford area, near Wareham, yesterday evening (28 March) for several heath fires.

Multiple small 4x4 appliances and heavy off-road appliances, the Unimog from Wareham and water carriers were mobilised between the incidents. The largest fire was at Great Ovens Hill, covering an area of approx. 300m x 200m.

The cause of the fires is under investigation, but they are believed to be suspicious. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers or the police.

Potential Station Closures

We know this is a highly emotive and difficult time for impacted individuals and communities, as the Fire Authority consider proposals for eight potential station closures. We’d like to reiterate that no decisions have yet been made.

The Fire Authority will decide on 10 February whether to open public consultation on any of the proposed stations. If they agree to this, the public consultation will run for 13 weeks from 13 February until the 15 May.
It’s important that your views are shared through this independent process so that they can be considered by the Fire Authority when they make their final decision at their meeting on 30 June.

The consultation will include a questionnaire as well as public events at impacted locations – please make sure you are following our page or visit our website to find out how to get involved from the 13 February.

We’re currently dealing with a road traffic collision on Cranborne Road, Knowlton. The road is likely to be closed for some time so please avoid the area where possible.
