A great start to A Level Biology! 🧬
In their first lesson, our students got hands-on modelling the structure of amino acids and exploring how they join together to form dipeptides and polypeptides.

Monomers, dipeptides and polypeptides β€” all nailed! πŸ‘
A brilliant way to bring the science to life and build those foundations for the year ahead πŸ’š

🎯 YEAR 11 | THEIR CHALLENGE FOR 2026–27 🎯

πŸ”΄ COMMIT
MAKE IT COUNT. NO REGRETS.

Mrs Heywood met with Year 11 this week for their first assembly of their final year in our main school.

The message was simple:
Focus on what you can control.
🏫 Be here
⏰ Be on time
πŸ“š Be ready
πŸ’ͺ Put the effort in
πŸ™‹ Ask for help
πŸ”„ When things go wrong – reset and go again

And their challenge for the year?
NO REGRETS.

When our Year 11 students walk out of their final GCSE exam next summer, we want every one of them to be able to say:
β€œI did what I could.
I gave myself the best possible chance.”

Their final year is also about more than examinations. As the oldest students in our main school, they have an important role to play in setting the example for everyone who follows them.
🎯 COMMIT
🎯 MAKE IT COUNT
🎯 NO REGRETS

Let's make it a Year 11 to be proud of. πŸ’™

πŸ“ˆ YEAR 10 | THEIR CHALLENGE FOR 2026–27 πŸ“ˆ

🟒 IMPROVE
GET 1% BETTER.

Mrs Heywood met with Year 10 this week to set their challenge for the year ahead.

The message wasn't about suddenly becoming perfect.
It was about getting a little bit better, consistently.

🎯 Better attendance
⏰ Better punctuality
πŸ“š Better organisation
πŸ™‹ Ask for help
πŸ’¬ Act on feedback
πŸ‘ Encourage others

Every student has been challenged to identify something they can improve and work towards becoming:
1% BETTER

And there's a second part to the challenge…
Be somebody else's 1%. πŸ’™

Encourage someone. Help someone. Celebrate their success. Be a positive role model for our new Year 9 students.
πŸ“ˆ IMPROVE
πŸ“ˆ 1% BETTER
πŸ“ˆ KEEP MOVING FORWARD

We are looking forward to seeing just how much Year 10 can achieve this year.

🌟 YEAR 9 | THEIR CHALLENGE FOR 2026–27 🌟

πŸ”΅ OPEN
SAY YES. HAVE A GO.

Mrs Heywood met with Year 9 this week for their first assembly as members of the Thomas Alleyne’s community.

Their challenge for the year is simple:
πŸ™‹ Try something new
🎭 Get involved
🀝 Meet new people
πŸ’‘ Discover what you’re capable of
πŸ’™ Become part of our school community

We want every Year 9 student to reach the end of their first year able to say:
β€œI tried something I had never done before.”
Whether that's joining a club, representing the school, performing, volunteering, taking on responsibility or simply having the confidence to put their hand up and have a go.

✨ OPEN
✨ SAY YES
✨ HAVE A GO

We can't wait to see what our new Year 9 students achieve!
