OMG. Started my dog walk this morning with some unusual footprints in the mud. Then I saw a large hairy humanoid like creature hiding in the trees. Managed to get one picture before it disappeared.
It was on the bridleway about half way down!

Almost 30 seconds of a flying bat at sunset despite the cold breeze this evening.

Sorry if you’re eating your breakfast at this moment, but I’ve just found this on the fence of the path leading down behind the houses on Banfield. I think it’s an owl pellet, the regurgitated mass of indigestible items such as bone and fur.
Owls will eat their unfortunate prey whole and then cough up the bits that their stomach cannot digest.
Slightly disgusting, I know, but it’s real nature

Anyone else noticed this tree with an unusual bark pattern in the shape of a diamond. Not sure what caused it as there were two others nearby.

Italian Arum produces a fruiting shoot 6 - 12 inches tall after flowering, characterized by a cluster of bright orange-red berries. These berries are initially green and enclosed in a protective, paper-like tunic that dries and peels back as they mature.

Just below the fruiting body is what looks like a Common Harvestman or Daddy Long Legs waiting for its next meal.

Just love the way the sun catches the stem.

Bash the Himalayan Balsam event advertised on signposts around the meadows. Described as an invasive plant, it is thriving in certain parts affecting the ability of other flora to develop. If you can spare a little time, it would certainly help.

I’m sharing a what3words address to help you find this specific location. Tap to see exactly where it is:

Wonderful to see the meadows blooming. One picture of a flowering horse chestnut hopefully meaning a plentiful conker supply. Then three pictures of a Welsh Poppy. These self seed so are likely to spread.

As the weather cools slightly, spotted by Corinna on the Meadows was a large bee swarm taking a rest in a tree.

Usually, if left undisturbed they will just move off, when ready, bothering nobody. Hopefully they will be nearby and ready to get to work pollinating the local flora.

Another great photo.
