Yesterday evening and into the early hours of this morning, we were Mobilised to the Blackwell area of Bromsgrove, to a derelict building fire well alight.
The incident was well established on our arrival, however we were tasked to deliver CAFS through a main jet to assist in knocking the fire back and prevent fire spread.

The incident was scaled back and we were eventually released at around 02:45hrs.
At its peak the incident was raised to Make Pumps 10 alongside a number of specialist resources such as the Water Carrier, Aerial Ladder Platform, Incident Support Vehicle and Command Support Unit.

The crew eventually left station at around 04:00hrs.

We currently have multiple Fire crews dealing with a Building Fire in Blackwell, Bromsgrove.
Can all local residents please keep windows and doors shut.

During the Thunder and Lightning Storm this morning, at around 02.30; Crews from Upton, Pershore Fire Station alongside 2 crews from Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service were mobilised to a Lightning strike on a building in Eckington.

On arrival crews found extensive internal damage to the electrical system and cosmetic damage to the walls of the house.

Fortunately all occupants were ok and evacuated safely.

This evening the crew organised a bit of a team building/fitness event.
We located ourselves down to Upton Park where there are recreational facilities including a tarmac football pitch!
90 Minutes of Football later and a score totally unknown as we lost count! We finished up.
It was Great to meet up outside of work and spend time having laughs, have a bit of friendly competition to try and win but ultimately build on what is already a strong team bond.

Some of us were good…… some of us were extremely questionable BUT it was taking part, having a great time, having fun and bonding at the same time that counted!

Thanks also to Callum, Sam, Sian, Riley and Arlo for providing brilliant commentary and questionable team advice and retrieving the ball when it decided to go “outside the boundary” 😀

Afternoon all,

Our Recruitment banner has now been relocated to the Paynes Garage Frontage! Thank you to Harriet Elston and the Paynes family allowing us to put the banner up! Historically Harriet’s Grandad and Micks Father was also an On call firefighter at Upton!

If you’re coming into Upton keep a look out for the banner and please please please share with anyone thinking of becoming an On call firefighter!

We had a recruitment banner hung on the perimeter fence of Upton Rugby field, since potentially Sunday it has been removed by unknown persons.

Does anyone know its whereabouts please and where we can collect it from?
