Uckfield Town Council is made up of 15 Councillors who are elected every four years. The Town Mayor and Deputy Town Mayor are elected by the Councillors every year. The Council has three main committees - General Purposes, Plans and Environment and Leisure, two sub-committees - Personnel, and Finance - and a number of working groups including The Voice Editorial Panel. The Full Council and main co
mmittees meet approximately every eight weeks. The Plans committee meets every three weeks to make observations to Wealden District Council, which is the planning authority. All Council meetings are held in the Council Chamber, on the first floor of the Civic Centre and are open to the public. Agendas are available to the public before the meetings on notice boards throughout the Town and on the Council’s website. At these meetings, members of the public are allowed to address Councillors at the discretion of the Chairman of each meeting. The Town Council has its offices on the first floor of the Civic Centre, and is open to the public Monday - Thursday 9.00am to 5.00pm and Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm.
