A fine selection of Steam Crane build photos - mostly from IoanCam, with a few of mine jumbled in randomly with erratic FB uploading. Am sure you will agree the Talyllyn Young Members that got involved with this have done a cracking job, rescuing the remnants from the hedgerow and repairing damage caused by heavy things dumped on it.
It was originally inspired when a driftwood boat-hatch was found on a river estuary walk, and the rest of the crane built from scrap parts underneath the hatch as a cab roof. Built by Peter Jones with help from Alan Walker of Triassic Models it stood over a pond as part of the Compton Down Railway. It was originally capable of pivoting, but have foregone that option in new Llechfan home so will be more stable in the presence of littler curious visitors. The crane jib indicator was a lovely new addition from Andrew Penny's amazing antiques emporium formally in Tywyn high street - a wonderful donation that has found its true destiny now!
