Ymgynghoriad Rhwydwaith Teithio Llesol - cerdded, olwyno a beicio Gwynedd

Mae Cyngor Gwynedd yn cynnal ymgynghoriad cyhoeddus ar Fap Dyfodol Rhwydwaith Teithio Llesol Gwynedd, ac rydym yn gwahodd eich Cyngor a'ch cymuned i gymryd rhan.

Mae trigolion ledled Gwynedd yn cael eu gwahodd i rannu eu barn ar sut y gellir gwneud cerdded, olwyno a beicio yn fwy diogel, yn haws ac yn fwy hygyrch i bawb fel rhan o ymgynghoriad cyhoeddus.

Cerdded – Os ydych yn cerdded i'r gwaith, yr ysgol, y siopau neu am dro hamdden, mae eich profiadau'n bwysig. Rhannwch eich barn a helpwch ni i wneud cerdded yng Ngwynedd yn fwy diogel, cyfleus a chroesawgar i bawb.
Olwyno - Os ydych yn defnyddio cadair olwyn, sgwter symudedd neu gymorth symudedd arall, rydym am glywed eich profiadau. Dywedwch wrthym os oes rhwystrau yr ydych yn eu hwynebu, a'r gwelliannau a allai wneud teithio o gwmpas Gwynedd yn haws ac yn fwy hygyrch.
Beicio – Os ydych yn beicio'n ddyddiol neu yn achlysurol, gall eich adborth helpu i lunio rhwydwaith beicio gwell ar gyfer y dyfodol. Rhannwch eich syniadau ar sut y gallwn greu llwybrau beicio mwy diogel, cysylltiedig a deniadol i bobl o bob oed a gallu.

O dan Ddeddf Teithio Llesol (Cymru) 2013, mae'n ofynnol i bob Awdurdod Lleol yng Nghymru gyflwyno Mapiau Rhwydwaith Teithio Llesol wedi'u diweddaru i Lywodraeth Cymru. Mae'r mapiau hyn yn helpu i gynllunio, blaenoriaethu a sicrhau cyllid ar gyfer gwelliannau i lwybrau cerdded, olwyno a beicio, gan gefnogi teithiau bob dydd mewn ffordd fwy diogel, hygyrch a chynaliadwy.

Fel rhan o'r broses hon, rydym yn awyddus i gasglu barn cynghorau lleol, cynghorwyr, trigolion, busnesau a grwpiau cymunedol ar y rhwydwaith presennol ac ar gyfleoedd i'w wella yn y dyfodol.

Gwynedd Active Travel Network Consultation - walking, wheeling and cycling

Cyngor Gwynedd is undertaking a public consultation on the future Active Travel Network Map for Gwynedd, and we would like to invite your local community to take part.

Residents across Gwynedd are invited to share their views on how walking, wheeling and cycling routes can be made safer, easier and more accessible for everyone, as part of a new public consultation.

Walking - Whether you walk to work, school, the shops or simply for leisure, your experiences matter. Tell us about the routes you use and the improvements you'd like to see to help make walking in Gwynedd safer, easier and more enjoyable for everyone.
Wheeling - If you use a wheelchair, mobility scooter or other wheeled mobility aid, we want to hear from you. Share your experiences and help identify barriers and opportunities so that routes across Gwynedd become more accessible, inclusive and convenient for all.

Cycling - Whether you cycle every day or occasionally for recreation, your feedback can help shape better cycling infrastructure across Gwynedd. Let us know where improvements are needed to create safer, more connected and more appealing routes for cyclists of all ages and abilities.

Under the Active Travel (Wales) Act 2013, all Local Authorities in Wales are required to submit updated Active Travel Network Maps to the Welsh Government. These maps help guide the planning, prioritisation and funding of improvements to walking, wheeling (wheelchairs, mobility scooters, etc.) and cycling routes, supporting safer, more accessible and sustainable everyday journeys.

As part of this process, we are keen to gather views from local councils, councillors, residents, businesses and community groups on the existing network and opportunities for future improvements.

The consultation will close on Thursday 26th of November 2026. Comments can be submitted via the DataMapWales Active Travel Network Maps page, which includes an interactive map where users can identify potential new routes or improvements to existing routes.

Further information and details on how to participate can be found at: https://gwynedd.urlsand.com/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fdatamap.gov.wales%2Fsurvey%2Fgwynedd-at-consultation-2026%2F&e=4d4dc0db&h=f4c6b80f&f=y&p=y&m=4hK82t3C3mzNkGC

More information on walking, wheeling and cycling routes in Gwynedd is also available on the Council's website: Active Travel - Gwynedd Council

Paper copies are available on request. To receive a paper copy by post, please contact us on 01286 679426 or by email at [email protected].

We would be grateful if you could share details of this consultation within your community and submit any relevant comments or suggestions on behalf of your Council.

All comments submitted will be considered as we develop and plan improvements to the Gwynedd walking, wheeling and cycling network in the future, where this is both possible and practical.

Thank you in advance for your support and contribution.

As you may know, Gwynedd Council is developing plans to transform Tywyn Library into a new “Gwynedd in its Community” centre.

The vision goes far beyond simply refurbishing a building. The aim is to create a modern and flexible centre for the community that brings together Council services and partner organisations in one accessible location, making it easier for people to access the support, services and opportunities they need within their local community.

The library will continue to be an important part of the provision, but alongside this we are keen to create a centre that offers a wider range of services and activities. This could include, for example, employability services, support with digital skills, cost-of-living advice, wellbeing services, support from partner organisations, spaces for community groups to meet and work together, as well as other services that meet local needs.

It is very important to us that the centre is not designed by Gwynedd Council alone. We want to work with existing library users, partners and local organisations to ensure that the building and its services reflect the needs of the community and work effectively for everyone who uses it.

Over the coming months, Gwynedd Council will be establishing a stakeholder group to help guide the development of the plans. The group will provide an opportunity to contribute ideas and feedback on a wide range of issues, including:

How the building should operate in practice;
Which services and activities should be included;
The needs of existing and new users;
Accessibility and inclusion;
The best use of the available space;
Technology and digital services;
The identity and character of the new centre; and
How we can ensure the centre remains flexible and suitable for future needs.

We are keen to develop a centre that will serve the community for many years to come, and your experience, knowledge and ideas are a very important part of ensuring that happens.

We will be in touch again soon with further information and a formal invitation to take part in the stakeholder group and development sessions.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or would like to express an interest in taking part, please feel free to get in touch.

Thank you in advance for your support. We look forward to working with you to shape a new centre that meets the needs of the community today and continues to do so in the future.

Annwyl bawb,

Fel y gwyddoch efallai, mae Cyngor Gwynedd yn datblygu cynlluniau i drawsnewid Llyfrgell Tywyn yn ganolfan newydd "Gwynedd yn ei Gymuned".

Mae'r weledigaeth yn mynd ymhell y tu hwnt i ailwampio adeilad. Ein nod yw creu canolfan gymunedol fodern a hyblyg sy'n dod â gwasanaethau'r Cyngor a sefydliadau partner ynghyd mewn un lleoliad hygyrch, gan ei gwneud yn haws i bobl gael mynediad at y gefnogaeth, y gwasanaethau a'r cyfleoedd sydd eu hangen arnynt yn eu cymuned leol.

Bydd y llyfrgell yn parhau i fod yn rhan bwysig o'r ddarpariaeth, ond ochr yn ochr â hynny rydym yn awyddus i greu canolfan sy'n darparu ystod ehangach o wasanaethau a gweithgareddau. Gallai hyn gynnwys, er enghraifft, gwasanaethau cyflogadwyedd, cymorth gyda sgiliau digidol, cyngor ar gostau byw, gwasanaethau lles, cefnogaeth gan bartneriaid, mannau i grwpiau cymunedol gyfarfod a gweithio gyda'i gilydd, ynghyd â gwasanaethau eraill sy'n diwallu anghenion lleol.

Mae'n bwysig iawn i ni nad yw'r ganolfan yn cael ei dylunio gan y Cyngor yn unig. Rydym am gydweithio gyda defnyddwyr presennol y llyfrgell, partneriaid a sefydliadau lleol er mwyn sicrhau bod yr adeilad a'r gwasanaethau yn adlewyrchu anghenion y gymuned ac yn gweithio'n effeithiol i bawb fydd yn ei ddefnyddio.

Yn ystod y misoedd nesaf byddwn yn sefydlu grŵp rhanddeiliaid fydd yn helpu i lywio'r gwaith o ddatblygu'r cynlluniau. Bydd y grŵp yn rhoi cyfle i gyfrannu syniadau ac adborth ar ystod eang o faterion, gan gynnwys:

sut y dylai'r adeilad weithio yn ymarferol;
pa wasanaethau a gweithgareddau ddylai gael eu cynnwys;
anghenion defnyddwyr presennol a defnyddwyr newydd;
hygyrchedd a chynhwysiant;
y defnydd gorau o'r gofod;
technoleg a gwasanaethau digidol;
hunaniaeth a chymeriad y ganolfan newydd;
a sut y gallwn sicrhau bod y ganolfan yn hyblyg ac yn addas ar gyfer anghenion y dyfodol.

Rydym yn awyddus i ddatblygu canolfan fydd yn gallu gwasanaethu'r gymuned am flynyddoedd lawer, ac mae eich profiad, eich gwybodaeth a'ch syniadau yn rhan bwysig iawn o sicrhau hynny.

Byddwn yn cysylltu â chi eto yn fuan gyda rhagor o wybodaeth ac i'ch gwahodd yn ffurfiol i gymryd rhan yn y grŵp rhanddeiliaid a'r sesiynau datblygu.

Yn y cyfamser, os oes gennych unrhyw gwestiynau neu os hoffech fynegi diddordeb mewn cymryd rhan, mae croeso i chi gysylltu.

Diolch ymlaen llaw am eich cefnogaeth. Edrychwn ymlaen at weithio gyda chi i lunio canolfan newydd fydd yn diwallu anghenion y gymuned heddiw ac yn parhau i wneud hynny yn y dyfodol.

Mae Cyngor Tref Tywyn heddiw wedi derbyn y wybodaeth ddiweddaraf canlynol gan Gyngor Gwynedd ynglŷn â Gwesty'r Corbett Arms. Mae'r Cyngor wedi codi'r tarfu parhaus i fusnesau a thrigolion yr ardal oherwydd cau'r ffordd gyda Chyngor Gwynedd ac wedi gofyn am ddiweddariad ynghylch pryd y bydd modd ailagor y ffordd.

Diweddariad – adeilad y Corbett Arms, Tywyn (25/8/26)
Fel y byddwch yn ymwybodol, mae gwaith ar gyfer diogelu adeilad y Corbett Arms yn Nhywyn wedi bod yn bwrw ymlaen ers peth amser.
Yn gynrychiolwyr lleol yn ardal Tywyn, fe wyddoch fod cyflwr adeilad y cyn-westy wedi bod yn destun pryder ers degawd a mwy, ac mae’r Cyngor wedi bod yn cydweithio gyda nifer o bartneriaid i reoli a gweithredu'r ymateb i gyflwr yr adeilad.
Yn benodol ers dechrau 2025, gwelwyd cwympiadau i rannau o’r adeilad sydd wedi golygu gwaith angenrheidiol ar gyfer diogelu’r strwythur ac er diogelwch, fod dim modd i’r cyhoedd gael mynediad i’r safle.
Fel awdurdod cyfrifol, mae hyn wedi golygu gwaith deuol i sicrhau diogelwch y cyhoedd ynghyd â gwneud pob ymdrech i warchod adeilad rhestredig Gradd II.
Ers ein diweddariad diwethaf, mae Pwyllgor Cynllunio Gwynedd wedi cymeradwyo’r cais am ganiatâd adeilad rhestredig (LBC) ar gyfer gwaith dymchwel rhannau o gefn yr adeilad a gwaith sefydlogi a gwarchod yr adeilad fydd ar ôl.
Wrth gwrs, fel gydag unrhyw gais o’r fath, mae cyfres o amodau cynllunio penodol y bydd gofyn eu cyflawni cyn y bydd yr hawl adeilad rhestredig yn gallu cael ei weithredu. Mae manylion llawn y cais adeilad rhestredig, gan gynnwys yr amodau i’w gweld yma.
Mae’r gwaith manwl sydd ynghlwm â chyflawni’r amodau cynllunio yn bwrw ymlaen ar hyn o bryd, gyda rhaglen waith perthnasol yn cael ei gytuno.
Pan fydd yr amodau cynllunio wedi eu rhyddhau, disgwylir y bydd y gwaith i alluogi dad-adeiladu a dymchwel rhannol yn cychwyn yn fuan wedi hynny. Byddwn yn rhannu gwybodaeth bellach gyda chi pan fydd amserlen wedi ei gadarnhau.
Rydym yn gwerthfawrogi fod hwn yn sefyllfa heriol yn lleol, a byddwn yn gwneud pob ymdrech i sicrhau fod y gwaith yn cael ei gyflawni cyn gynted a bo modd gwneud hynny mewn modd sy’n ddiogel i’r cyhoedd, yr unigolion fydd yn cyflawni’r gwaith arbenigol yma, tra hefyd yn gwarchod statws rhestredig yr adeilad hanesyddol yma.
Bydd y gwaith monitro ar gyflwr adeilad y Corbett Arms yn parhau dros y misoedd nesaf er diogelwch y cyhoedd.

Tywyn Town Council has today received the following update from Gwynedd Council regarding the Corbett Arms Hotel. The Council has raised the continuing disruption to businesses and residents in the area due to the road closure with Gwynedd Council and requested an update as to when the road will be able to be reopened.

Update 25/8/26– The Corbett Arms Hotel, Tywyn
As you will be aware, work to protect the Corbett Arms building in Tywyn has been progressing for some time.
As local representatives in the Tywyn area, you will know that the condition of the former hotel building has been a matter of concern for over a decade, and the Council has been working with a number of partners to manage and implement the response to the condition of the building.
In particular, since the beginning of 2025, there have been collapses to parts of the building which have necessitated works for the protection of the structure and for safety reasons, work has been implemented to ensure the site is not accessible to the public.
As the responsible authority, our work had both been to ensure public safety as well as making every effort to protect the Grade II listed building.
Since our last update, the Gwynedd Planning Committee has approved the application for listed building consent (LBC) for the demolition of parts of the rear of the building and the remaining stabilisation and protection of the building.
Of course, as with any such application, there are a series of specific planning conditions that will need to be fulfilled before the listed building consent can be implemented. Full details of the application for listed building consent, including the conditions can be found here.
The detailed work involved in completing the planning conditions is currently progressing, with a relevant work programme being agreed.
Once the planning conditions have been released, it is expected that work to allow the partial deconstruction and demolition works will begin shortly afterwards when the conditions allow. We will share further information with you when a timetable is confirmed.
We appreciate that this is a challenging situation locally, and we will make every effort to ensure that the work is carried out as soon as possible in a way that is safe for the public, the individuals who will be carrying out this specialist work, whilst also protecting the listed status of this historic building.
Monitoring the condition of the Corbett Arms building will continue over the coming months for public safety.

A huge thank you to Tywyn town council for their continued support of Tywyn Live 2026! ❤️🎶

This year, they’ve kindly provided us with reusable Tywyn Live cups, helping us reduce single-use waste and keep the promenade that little bit greener. 🌊♻️

The cups will be available to buy for just £1 from the bar at the event, so you can use yours throughout the day and take it home as a little Tywyn Live keepsake too. 🍻🥤

Their support goes far beyond the cups as well. From helping us with the road closure, to supporting the practical side of putting on such a large community event, and of course being our main stage sponsor for Tywyn Live this year! 🎤🎸

Events like Tywyn Live simply wouldn’t be possible without organisations and businesses getting behind us, and we’re incredibly grateful to Tywyn Town Council for continuing to support an event that brings thousands of people together for a free day of live music and entertainment in Tywyn.

Diolch yn fawr, Cyngor Tref Tywyn! ❤️
