1st September marks the start of Catch the Bus Month 2026!

Transport for Cornwall has once again joined this exciting initiative that is organised by Bus Users UK, to celebrate the power of buses and drive change in transport.

Throughout September, we will be sharing information across the Transport for Cornwall website and page as well as Real Time Information screens on the events and competitions that will be running, as well as some Myth-BUSting facts for everyone!

We look forward to seeing some of you whilst out and about on the buses in Cornwall!

Setting up a Resilient Community Orchard Workshop
Sat 19th September, Redruth
10am-2pm

The workshop will cover the basics of how to set up a community orchard from scratch and look at practicalities and resources needed to manage a community orchard longer term.

Community orchards often do best when they are inspired, organised and managed by the community. More and more town and parish councils across Cornwall recognise this and are keen to support local people using community spaces for food growing whilst also improving biodiversity.

Participants will go away equipped with ideas, inspiration and an understanding of the steps needed to set up a community orchard where they live in Cornwall.

Town and parish councils have community grants like Community Chest, and might be interested in supporting attendance at this workshop by local residents to help inspire a community orchard group in their area. So it's worth contacting them to ask.

Boscawen Street and Lower Lemon Street - Highway and Footway Improvement - commencing on 7th September. Works will also include the double ramp replacement outside Hall for Cornwall, alongside refurbishment of other existing cast iron ramps elsewhere on the street.

Developed by Cornwall Council and the Together We Can Forum, the directory has been shaped by people with lived experience to make sure it is simple to use and accessible for everyone.
Whether you're looking for care and support, community groups, social activities, or products and services that can help with everyday life, the directory makes it easy to search for information close to home. Users can search by postcode, service type or specific need.
The website also includes a handy 'My Booklet' feature, allowing people to save useful information and share it with family, friends or carers. Local organisations can add and update their own listings, helping the directory continue to grow and offer the latest information.
