Well, the wet weather has finally returned after a lovely, but hot spell. 😎πŸ”₯

🌧In wet weather, it takes at least twice as long to stop as it does on a dry road. This is because your tyres have less grip on the road in wet weather.β˜”

⏱The recommended two-second rule in dry conditions should be doubled to at least four seconds when driving in wet conditions.

🐒Slow down and increase the distance between you and the vehicle ahead. Giving yourself extra space allows more time to react and reduces the risk of a collision - stay safe and don’t become another statistic.

With this heatwave continuing, there is an increased risk of wildfires.

Barbecues and campfires can cause wildfires.

This half-term, only light fires or BBQs where signs say you can, and ensure they are fully extinguished with water.

Take litter away with you

πŸŽ‰ It’s the Bank Holiday weekend! With good weather on the way, it’s the perfect time for BBQs and catching up with friendsβ€”but if you’re drinking alcohol, please don’t drive.

Plan ahead, and make sure you know how you can get home safely after you have been out drinking. Remember - you might still be over the drink drive limit the next morning.
