💷 One of the questions we get asked most is: "How do fostering allowances work?"

When you foster with Wiltshire Council, you'll receive weekly payments to help cover the costs of caring for a child or young person, alongside an allowance that recognises your skills, time and commitment.

The financial support means you can focus on what matters most: providing stability, care and encouragement to a child who needs it.

You'll also receive:
✅ Ongoing training
✅ Outside of working hours support
✅ A dedicated fostering team
✅ Opportunities to develop your skills

Fostering is about making a difference, but it's important to know you'll be supported financially as well as professionally.
