Update regarding Mountain Fire above Treorchy.
I have spoken with a Fire Service representative and been assured there is no immediate danger to human life or property. During darkness it is very dangerous for crews to be on the steep mountainside risking their lives and therefore the plan is for a crew to monitor the fires progress and movement towards the fire breaker lines which will hopefully see the fire distinguish itself naturally.
If anyone has any information regarding how this fire may have started, please come forward and share the information in total confidence.
Its unfair to continue to ask our dedicated firefighters to risk their lives fighting these mountain fires .... they have families too!!!!
