A few updates from the Parish Council 📋

Keeping everyone in the loop: the Solhaus bid we submitted wasn’t successful, so it won’t be going any further. We felt it was important to share that with you. If you’d like to know more or have any thoughts, come along to our meeting on the 2nd Monday of the month at the village hall — we’re always happy to talk it through.

Thank you to everyone who’s shared their views on a possible one-way system for New Road. We’ve done some digging, and the cost would be significant; potentially £10k, rising to £20k if consultation becomes extensive. We’re grateful to all of you who got in touch via messenger and email. It’s still worth a conversation, alongside the parking question, so we’ll be setting a date with mid-July in mind.

Our open sessions are there for you. Whatever the village matter, we’d love to hear what you think. 💬

Tregony Parish Council – A Quick Update

We wanted to take a moment to be open with you about where things stand with your Parish Council.

Following the resignation of our previous Chair, the council has been running with an interim Chair. We’re grateful to our previous Chair for the time and energy they gave to our village, and we wish them well.

Each month, an interim Chair is elected from within the council to oversee proceedings until we reach full strength — and for now, that’s me.

Comments are turned off on this post — not to close the conversation, but to encourage it in the right place. Every council meeting opens with a public open session, and the first 15 minutes are yours. We’d love to see you there. If you’d like to raise something specific, please submit your question to the clerk in advance so we can give you a proper, prepared response.

On councillor vacancies. We currently have two seats available. The application window has now closed, and those who’ve applied will shortly be coming in for an informal chat. Our aim is to have a stable, full council in place for the next meeting.

Finally, keep an eye out for an upcoming public open session where we’ll be seeking your views on two important local matters: parking and thought’s on New Road becoming one-way including what that would cost the village. Your input will genuinely shape what happens next, so please do come along when the date is set.

We’re here to serve Tregony, and we want to do that well — openly and together.
