101-year-old WW2 veteran Dorothea Barron pictured at the Pegasus Memorial yesterday during the 82nd anniversary of D-Day commemorations.

Dorothea joined fellow British veterans in Normandy to honour those who helped secure freedom in Europe, remembering the courage, sacrifice and service of the wartime generation.

The annual pilgrimage was made possible by the Taxi Charity For Military Veterans, a charity the Veterans’ Foundation has proudly supported with grants over the years.

CLIMB THE TOWN CLOCK

Tredegar Town Council, in support of the Open Doors Event.

Opening of the Tredegar Town Clock, The Circle, Tredegar, NP22 3PS
On Saturday, 6 September 2025 from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon.

Come along and climb inside the Clock from the base to the top. The climb will be over three sets of steel ladders therefore suitable footwear and general good health is essential - no flip flops or loose fitting shoes.

A certificate will be presented to all that climb.
