Wednesdays meeting
Please note that the meeting to discuss the former children's home on Attlee Estate has been cancelled by Durham County Council. We do not know why or when it if another meeting will be arranged but will post when we do.

Bulb planting
Today a lovely group of volunteers planted lots of daffodil bulbs around the Millennium Green. These were kindly donated by Richard Batson.

Drop In
Every Thursday there is a drop in session at the Community Centre from 10am to 2pm and at least one member of the town council is always there if you want to speak to a councillor face to face. We can use the office if anyone wants to speak in confidence

PUBLIC MEETING
Tow Law Community Centre
Wednesday 29th January at 4 pm
The former children’s home based on Attlee Estate is to be repurposed to house 18-25 year olds
The criteria is that they are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
It is expected to open in May
We have arranged for staff from Durham County Council to attend and give further details about this plan.
If you cannot attend and have questions you would like to ask please let one of your town councillors know
Posters will also be put up for those who do not use social media

Snow clearance
While snow clearance and gritting are the responsibility of Durham County Council we will be requesting additional grit bins for the town particularly for the housing estates where snow clearance is a lower priority

The town council would like to extend their grateful thanks to those who went out of their way to help others during the recent bad weather and showed great community spirit giving up their time to help dig snow for those less able.
