Here’s Anthony Hunt on why he’s standing for the Senedd - and why he believes Welsh Labour is the right choice.

For years, Anthony and his colleagues have been standing up for our communities - protecting services and delivering, even in the face of Tory cuts.

Now some of those same failed Tory voices are back under a different name.

Don’t be fooled. We know what they bring.
Vote Welsh Labour for fairness you can feel.

Other parties pretend to have all the answers - but when they talk about “efficiency savings”, what they really mean is cuts.

You’ll hear others promise lower council tax and more spending, but it’s not credible - and it’s not honest about the choices councils face.

Your Welsh Labour council in Torfaen doesn’t pretend there are easy solutions. We’re upfront, realistic, and focused on the serious job of delivering for residents and protecting the services people rely on.

Well said, Anthony Hunt.

When other parties talk about “cost efficiencies”, what they really mean is cuts.

We’re taking a different approach - investing £4.5 million in our schools to support pupils, protect staff and give schools the stability they need.

Stronger schools. Stronger communities. Brighter futures.

We’re also investing in:

More support for Additional Learning Needs

£300,000 for school IT upgrades

Extra capacity for Welsh-medium ALN provision

Good schools mean stronger communities. That’s why education remains our top priority.

Reform had no alternative in the chamber. Now they’re shouting online.

Here are the facts.

Over the past four years, Torfaen has raised council tax less than anywhere else in Wales. We now have the fourth lowest council tax in Wales - around £150 less than if we’d followed the Welsh average.

Reform claim we’re cutting services. This budget does the opposite.

✅ 5.5% extra funding for schools
✅ Extra support for additional learning needs
✅ Investment in road resurfacing
✅ Protection for waste and recycling collections

Responsible decisions. Balanced budget. Protecting local services.

Working for Torfaen.

Great news! The new facilities are fantastic for children and Torfaen’s first net zero school means lowered energy bills and climate positive too 💚

There’s been some confusion following recent press coverage.

To be clear - this uplift is for Torfaen’s lowest-paid council workers - the cleaners, teaching assistants, care staff, catering teams and waste crews who keep our services running.

In this video, Anthony Hunt sets out why backing our frontline workforce is the right thing to do.

Supporting working people. Strengthening services.
