Today's theme: Scammers and Fraud
Fraud isn't just a personal risk anymore - it's one of the fastest-growing threats to organisational resilience. Phishing emails, invoice fraud, business email compromise, and social engineering attacks don't just target individuals; they target your staff, your suppliers, and your systems, often as the entry point for much bigger cyber incidents.

โข Pause before clicking - scammers rely on urgency
โข Verify unexpected requests for money or information via a separate, trusted channel
โข Use strong, unique passwords and enable multi-factor authentication
โข Report suspicious emails/texts (e.g. via Action Fraud or your IT/security team)

โข Build a culture of "verify, don't assume" - especially for payment or data requests
โข Run regular phishing simulations and staff awareness training
โข Have a tested incident response plan specifically for fraud/cyber breach scenarios
โข Review third-party and supply chain access - attackers often go in through the weakest link
โข Ensure leadership understands cyber risk as a business continuity issue, not just an IT one
