Today LIFT Councillors Jason Lejeune, Christopher Berry and Steve Bush went on a Chapter 8 Signing, Lighting and Guarding (SLG) training course and have all passed🎉
In the test Chris got 20/20‼️

They also participated in a practical assessment about how to safely close a road for works. They are now qualified to apply for road closures and if the town council wants to join the road warden scheme (to fill potholes, clear overgrown verges and clean street signs) they are now qualified to do this and organise / supervise volunteers to do this 😁

Great work guys 💪🏼

LIFT councillors- always working for the good of our community.

📣EXTENDED ACCESS TO PUBLIC TOILET FACILITIES AT WESTEXE PARK 📣

Tiverton Town Council is pleased to confirm the extended availability of public toilet facilities at Westexe Park, thanks to the generous cooperation of the Old Heathcoat Community Centre. These facilities will remain open daily until 7 September 2025.

This temporary arrangement has been introduced in response to the significant demand for accessible public amenities, particularly during the busy summer period. The Town Council has worked in close partnership with the Community Centre to ensure suitable facilities are made available for visitors to the park and paddling pool.

The Council extends its sincere thanks to the Old Heathcoat School Community Centre for their generosity and collaboration in making this service possible. Work continues to explore sustainable, long-term solutions for the provision of permanent public toilet facilities in Westexe Park. Tiverton Town Council remains committed to enhancing local amenities and improving the experience of all who enjoy Westexe Park.

Visitors are warmly encouraged to support the Community Centre’s café, which serves a range of hot and cold drinks, homemade cakes, cream teas, and children’s packed lunches. Your custom directly supports the Community Centre in continuing its valuable work within the local community.

We kindly remind all users of the facilities to treat the space with respect, ensuring consideration for both the premises and fellow visitors of the centre.
