The strops at Irby have been removed for some reason, don't know why, don't particularly know when.
Probably won't replace them, bring ya own slings and something to prevent damage to the trees themselves.

The bolts remain undamaged but please be extra cautious and inspect them as apparently we can't have nice things.

Hello friends and team alike, it has been a good few months since a decent update on the status of developments of the crag.
We've been working hard speaking with the BMC, who in turn speaks to the local authorities, because of health and safety concerns we've been struggling to get a healthy understanding between climbers and the council.
We still have plans for development, but as I (Cameron specifically) have moved away for the summer season I don't have any specific updates other than when we are allowed to begin cleaning brambles again after the restriction season is over.

Keep your chins up lads and don't let this place go back to the way it once was, the strops and other protection will make your life so much easier for a nice evening spot.

Hi All, as of the 5th March with the help of the right people we've improved ease of access for those wanting to climb.
This includes strops for trees which will prevent regular slings harming the trees. And eyelet bolts for a solid anchor for your carabiners to clip into. Please double up these bolts as we've installed them as such and as always make your own judgement on whether or not you actually climb on them.
Cheers to all involved, you've been a big help and is the start of a big project.

Great afternoon on the rock

28/02/2022

Good morning All,

Many of you may have heard about how George Mallory and Andrew Irvine used Irby Quarry, and George Mallory broke his ankle here!

Does anyone know any more about the Quarry, it's history or about the Mallory and Irbine connection?

Or does anyone have any pictures related to the Quarry that they're happy to share?

Many thanks and have an awesome week now, FoIB

Cracking day playing on the rock, and in great condition too. The gorse direct line takes it up a grade!
