Steam engines don't just run on coal—they run on the dedication of our volunteers! 🚂

Did you know this week is National Volunteers Week and we would like to say a big THANK YOU to all our dedicated team of volunteers that help with the running of our railway.👏

From driving our steam engines, maintaining our carriages and wagons, fixing our trackwork and signals, cleaning our engines, cutting the grass or just chopping kindling wood, they are a valued part of our team working alongside our paid staff.

Steam railway now open EVERY DAY this summer. Looking for a day out now summer is here, we are open every day until the start of September. 🚂🌞🍦

Monday to Friday trains are running from 11:00am to 4:00pm with returns from Lakeside station only (weather permitting). Weekends trains run from 10:45am to 5:00pm from both Kingsmere and Lakeside stations.

With lots more to enjoy around the park we look forward to seeing you all taking a train ride on our railway.

With just over 2 weeks until our Grand Summer Steam Gala we are busy finalising details of the local craft stalls that will be supporting the event.

This year there is something for the whole family including bouncy castles, face painting, Trainmaster themed play, children's toys, candles & honey, engraving, jewellery and much more.

Spend the whole day at the event, buy a gala rover ticket and enjoy unlimited rides on the train and there should still be plenty of time to browse all the stalls and other attractions. Once you are at the country park entry to this event is free however charges apply for the train rides and some of the attractions.

The sun is shining and it’s Bank Holiday Monday.

Half term has arrived, the summer sunshine is here, so it must be time for a family day out to Moors Valley.🌞

Today we have Zeus and Pioneer on our main passenger service with trains running from 10:45am to 5:00pm.🚂

Put on the sun cream and enjoy a cool breeze in your hair as you take the train from our Lakeside Station. Stop off at Kingsmere Station for a New Forest Ice Cream and a souvenir from the gift shop before taking the train back.🍦😎

Wave at the at it departs for another journey and big smiles all round are guaranteed.😀

😀Our Grand Summer Steam Gala is coming on the 13th & 14th June and what a great family day out we have planned.

🎉For the children there is face painting, bouncy castles and Trainmaster children's play.

👜For the adults we have our amazing selection of visiting traction engines, classic cars and NEW for this year a great selection of local craft stalls.

🚂And not forgetting our steam railway, a treat for the whole family best enjoyed with a Gala Rover ticket giving unlimited rides all day and special engine shed tours.

All of this is happening in the award winning Moors Valley Country Park and Forest so lots to keep the whole family busy for a full day of steam and fun.
