We spent some of this weekend supporting Thetford and District RAFA culminating in the Battle of Britain Service to remember those that served.

A few 1109 cadets along with a member of staff travelled to Williams F1 Racing HQ today for a visit. The day was filled with STEM, ESports and exploring the history of the team. They’ve had a fantastic day and our thanks go to Williams Racing for an informative and educational day, and 301 Sqn, Air Training Corps for inviting us!

Our Breckland Lottery is an exciting weekly lottery that raises money for good causes in Breckland. Tickets are £1 a week with a top prize of £25,000 and the draw takes place every Saturday night. From every £1 ticket you buy 60p will go to local good causes.

Last night the Cadets and Volunteers at 1109 had their Christmas Party at the local bowling alley, Mr G's!

The top score of the night went to the cadets!

Congratulations to Sgt Budd for achieving her Silver Radio Badge!

Sgt Budd, alongside other cadets within the Wing, were trained to a Radio Communicator standard across two days. These cadets are now competent in running radio networks and are able to supervise Radio Operators (Bronze Badge holders).

Over the course of the two days cadets learned about Advanced Voice Procedures, Local Area Networks/Wide Area Networks, and completed a 4-hour radio exercise assessment, utilising all procedures learnt over the weekend. The cadets found this exercise fun, with cadets deliberately operating in ways to get specific responses, with little to no guidance from instructing staff.
