🌿 A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers and GWT! 🌿

Today marked the first day of building the new rain garden at the Gloucester Road toilets, and we couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who came along to help. Your energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to get stuck in made a fantastic start to this community project.

Work will continue over the next couple of days, and we’re excited to say it will all culminate in the official opening this Thursday at 11.30am, led by the Town Mayor. Everyone is welcome to attend!

The Annual Town Meeting will take place on Monday 13th April at 6pm at the Watson Hall. We are delighted that SARA will be joining us to talk about their work in the area.

Update on Swing Area Repairs at Mitton

We’re aware the surface under the swings needs attention and our contractor had hoped to complete the work this week. Unfortunately, the recent mix of wet weather, extreme heat over the summer, and now colder conditions has delayed installation.

To ensure a safe, high-quality finish, the rubber surfacing must be laid in dry conditions above 5°C. If installed in rain or extreme temperatures, the surface could crack or shrink, which we want to avoid.

Thank you for your patience, we’ll keep you posted as soon as conditions allow us to proceed and in the meantime, please take extra care in this area.
