You may have noticed a lot of activity at Northway Playing Field last week and now, if you visit, you will see a new addition to the skate park. The Parish Council approached Tewkesbury Academy to see if some of their students would like to assist in producing a piece of art on the north wall of the facility. The response was positive and the school was keen to get involved. The next step was for a professional artist to be chosen to help design the commission, and a number of students worked tirelessly, in rather bad weather conditions, to create an amazing piece of art that reflected what Northway meant to them. We are so pleased with the result. (Hopefully more pictures to follow).

The Northway Lane M5 overbridge continues to be a safety concern to the Parish Council who have been lobbying to get it improved. Members are grateful to the local MP has offered to assist by writing a letter directly to the Department of Transport, to be signed by himself and Northway Parish Council.

Community Governance Review - residents' views sought.

The Borough Council recognises the vital role parish councils play in supporting and representing local communities. As neighbourhoods grow and change, it is important that parish governance remains robust, representative, and able to meet local needs. The CGR will consider whether current parish boundaries, governance structures and electoral arrangements continue to reflect the identities and interests of local communities and facilitate effective and convenient local government.

The Parish Council is holding some money that was found this morning - if you have lost some please send a private message or email. We will need to know exactly how much was lost and if we can’t match the owner we will pass it on to the Police.

Did you know that two youth clubs run in Northway? One at Sycamore Chapel on a Monday afternoon and the other at the Village Hall, Northway Playing Field. Tewkesbury also has youth clubs on offer.....

⚠️ Notice for Skatepark and Playing Field Users ⚠️

Please be aware that improvement works will be taking place behind the wall at the northern end of the skatepark from Monday 8 June to Thursday 11 June.

The area behind the skatepark will be temporarily cordoned off while the work is carried out. We kindly ask all visitors to respect the barriers and be considerate of those working on site during this period.

To help keep everyone safe and allow the project to be completed as quickly as possible, we'd really appreciate it if skaters and riders could use the bowl end of the skatepark between 9am and 3pm while work is taking place.
