The story of the Oak Pavilion at Highgrove 🌳

Designed by Mark H***e, the Oak Pavilion was created to celebrate the life and legacy of a 60-foot tall cedar tree that used to stand at the back of Highgrove House πŸͺ΅

Built from sustainably sourced green oak and topped with a wildlife-friendly spire with holes for birds and bats to nest, the Pavilion is a representation of The King's philosophy of Harmony with nature 🐦

Creating traditional hay stooks at Highgrove Gardens 🌾

Following the annual scything in our Wildflower Meadow, hay structures have been created to dry the hay before it is collected and stored as feed for livestock over the winter.

Nigel Adams explains how these timber-framed structures are carefully stacked and combed to help rainwater run down effectively, keeping the hay dry and well preserved ahead of storing.
