Check out those moves 🕺🏻

Bobo’s been showing off for Cindy lately, and this dancing display is all part of ostrich courtship behaviour.

Male ostriches perform dramatic dances, feather displays and movements to try and impress females during breeding season, and you can’t deny, Bobo is fully committed to the performance, Cindy’s got his attention. 🥰

Have you spotted Bobo dance moves?

The team thought Yacuma the squirrel monkey might have a serious spinal or neurological problem. Then the vet saw something completely unexpected on her X-ray.

Yacuma is one of the smallest squirrel monkeys at Manor Wildlife Park, but when keepers found her struggling with curled hands, weak back legs and strange behaviour, they knew something wasn’t right. She was brought into the vet clinic for urgent checks, with the team worried about possible brain or spinal issues.

But during her examination, the vet made a shock discovery: Yacuma was heavily pregnant.

In this emotional episode of Vet Diaries, we follow Yacuma through her health check, blood tests, X-rays and recovery, as the team works out what might be causing her worrying symptoms. Could her pregnancy be putting extra strain on her tiny body? And how close is she to giving birth?

Watch as Yacuma recovers, returns to her squirrel monkey troop, and gives the keepers one of the biggest surprises they’ve had in the clinic.

At Manor Wildlife Park we have three male rhinos. For a while they all got along very well until they didn’t! The hormones kicked in and they started tussling which proposed numerous challenges for our animal management team.

As a holding facility for male rhinos it is a constant battle of risk and reward. The risk being a big fight but the reward is witnessing all rhinos together out on our massive paddock. A surplus of male rhinos is a growing issue in the zoo world but we’re ready for the challenge!

Kev has been working hard on reducing Jambo’s testosterone levels to the point where we’re giving it a go again! Follow along to watch what happened when we tried to mix our three rhinos together!
