Here is the Armed Forces Community Outreach Events & Activities taking place, across Telford, throughout the month of September 2026.

The programme includes free Yoga classes for members of the Armed Forces Community and former Emergency Services personnel, held every Wednesday at the Chris Turley Armed Forces Hub. A new Boxing Fitness Classes at the Hub on Tuesday mornings from 10.00am to 12.00pm, alongside the relaunch of the popular Craft and Sewing Group at Donnington Community Hub, which meets on the second Friday of each month. You are welcome to attend any of these activities and to share this information with colleagues, clients, residents and others who may be interested.

Across the borough, there are also popular Breakfast Clubs including those delivered by the Telford Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club and the Newport Navy Club.

West Team update - Recently the West Team have cleared a cluster of leaves from the pathway on Severn Drive to Harley Close, Dothill. They have also cut overgrowth clearing up the pathway that runs from Barnet Close to Deer park Road. They have also cut brambles and overgrowth from the fencing on Harley Close opposite Walnut way. They have also cut and cleared the alley way on Aston close. Photos attached:

It is with great pleasure that we can reveal the winners of Wellington Town Council, Shropshire's Scarecrow Competition 2026

After a great deal of deliberation the very difficult decision was made as follows:
🏆Friendliest Scarecrow - awarded to Lucy at Lucy's Shoebox and 'Betty'
🏆Best Use Of Recycled Materials - awarded to Kristy, James and Genevieve and their beautiful dried flower scarecrow
🏆Best Scarecrow Name - awarded to Ellie at Clarkes Solicitors and 'His Honourable Justice Straw'

The winners will receive their £25 prizes at the next Full Council meeting

We would like to thank everyone who entered - the quality of all the scarecrow friends was outstanding - and to Deputy Mayor Cllr Paul Davis for undertaking the unenviable job of judging them
