Tomorrow, Thursday 28th August, the lower playground on Croppings Park is being re-barked. A large lorry will need access, and we would appreciate residents' co-operation in not parking on Stocking Park Road to make sure there are no access issues.

The lower park area will be cordoned off while the work is completed by the estates and stewardship team.

Thank you to everyone who attended the first meeting of the year of the events and activities Community Crew!

Lots of exciting plans were made, the first one for a family fundraising night for our youth clubs, with big thanks to Cllr Raj Mehta for kindly donating some funding. You’ll hear more information soon!

UPDATE - the traffic lights are for BT telecoms who are laying new duct line. We aren't informed in advance of these works.

This morning traffic lights have appeared near the Bache turning before Round House Park. We haven't been given advance notice of these, so are trying to find out why they are there. We'll update when we have information but apologies in the meantime for any inconvenience.

Don't forget you can apply to be a snow warden with the council. They supply you with a snow shovel and grit so you can help keep your local paths clear.

Happy New Year to all of our neighbours

Committee members Jordan, Pete, Lily, Louise and Wendy hit the streets this afternoon to help clear some of the rubbish that was around the village. Fresh air and exercising off the Christmas food whilst collecting quite a few bags of rubbish.

Please be aware there are temporary traffic lights on Ellens Bank. National Grid are dealing with an emergency power fault and have dug up the path outside 7 Ellens Bank.

The work is expected to take three days to find the fault, fix it and repair the pathway. There may be some disruptions to the lights, so please be careful and take additional time when leaving the village by the north entrance.
