Telford & Wrekin Council would like to make you aware that from 31 March 2026, they will be enhancing their kerbside recycling collection service.

From this date, you will be able to recycle food and drink cartons by placing them in your purple top bin.

You can see examples of these types of containers attached to this post.

Cartons can be put in the purple top bin alongside cans, glass and plastic.

Telford & Wrekin Council see this as a positive improvement that should hopefully make recycling more convenient for residents, while ensuring the new Simpler Recycling legislative requirements are met.

You may continue to recycle food and drink cartons at Household Recycling Centres (HRCs) if that is what you prefer, giving you flexible options for how you recycle.
