You can get your tickets for this fascinating guided walk from Tavistock Visitor Information Centre located here at the Guildhall Heritage Centre.

A wonderfully entertaining and informative guided walk this Saturday at 1400

Did you know ???

The South Devon and Tavistock Railway Company opened on 21st of June 1859. It offered a railway service from Plymouth to Tavistock and this was extended to reach Launceston in 1865.

Subsequent demolition has left a few traceable remains of this once important rail link

On 2nd June 1890 the Plymouth, Devonport and South Western Junction Railway opened offering a link to London. Join Stephen and Claire Fryer for a visit to both of these railway sites.

The walk will be approximately 2 hours over reasonably level terrain including remnants of the old railbed.

We’ve got two fantastic events coming up this May, perfect for history lovers and families alike!

📅 Friday 22nd May – Courtroom Talk: Dartmoor Archaeology

Join Simon Dell for an engaging illustrated talk exploring the fascinating archaeology of Dartmoor.

🕖 Talk starts at 7pm (doors open 6:45pm)

📅 Wednesday 27th May – Discovery Team Half-Term: Victorian Games

Step back in time this half term with a fun, hands-on session for families with primary-aged children! Try traditional Victorian games and crafts in a relaxed, drop-in setting.
