Taunton Pool is offering FREE Water Safety Sessions on Friday 28th August 2026 — a fantastic opportunity for children to build confidence and learn essential water safety skills. 💙

Children will be in the water learning how to:
🏊 Float safely
📣 Signal and call for help in an emergency
💦 Develop confidence in the water

⏰ Sessions:
14:30–15:00
15:00–15:30

Blackbrook Leisure Centre & Spa are delighted to be hosting a FREE Community Fun Day for local families on Friday 14th August, from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

We have a fantastic range of activities planned, including:
🎈 Bouncy Castles
💪 Assault Courses
🎨 Face Painting
🎈 Balloon Modelling
🎪 Circus Skills
🎾 Tennis Activities
✂️ Arts & Crafts
And much more!

We are also hoping to welcome a Fire Engine and Ambulance, giving children and families the opportunity to explore the vehicles and meet the emergency services teams.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Diane, our Swim Teacher of the Year! 🌟

Nominated by our Swim Manager, Jordan Farmer, Diane's passion, dedication and impact on our swim school are nothing short of extraordinary.

For an incredible 40 years, Diane has been changing lives through swimming. Today, she's teaching her third generation of swimmers – parents who once learned with Diane are now bringing their own children, and even grandchildren, to her lessons. That level of trust is something truly special.

Whether she's introducing babies to the water for the very first time, helping children master new skills, supporting adults to overcome a lifelong fear of swimming, or delivering thoughtful and inclusive SEN lessons, Diane gives every swimmer the same care, patience and encouragement.

What makes Diane exceptional isn't just her experience – it's how she makes people feel. Her calm, warm and reassuring nature instantly puts swimmers at ease. She celebrates every achievement, no matter how big or small, and inspires confidence in everyone she teaches.

As Jordan so perfectly put it:

"Diane doesn't just teach swimming; she helps people believe in themselves. She creates memories, builds trust, and brings joy to families year after year. It's impossible to count how many lives she's touched."

Diane, thank you for four decades of dedication, kindness and unwavering commitment to our swimmers and their families. Your impact reaches far beyond the pool, and this award is so richly deserved.
