Great interview on Tone FM with Precious Users, a representative of Nigerians in Taunton. They are organising an event at 61 Bar and Venue, who are offering their venue for free. That's because they're raising funds for the mayor's chosen charity for this year, DIVERSITY VOICE! It's a great Afro-Caribbean party -dance event 10pm -3am. Tickets on the door £20 (includes food)

This is Miss Regency International - Taunton's own beauty queen - just stunning. She won this award by setting up an agency for women who have been abused. I didn't like to think about this but there's too much of this happening in our town/country. Let's put a stop to this right now by reporting it widely. This is not acceptable.

This 17-23 June the theme is . Taunton Welcomes Refugees is a charity working make the transition smoother by helping new arrivals to learn English and overcome some of the small hurdles they may face, making it easier to integrate and feel more like home. The deadline for the next round of grant funding, now including venue cost grants is tomorrow, Friday 14 June, with the committee meeting to consider applications on Monday 8 July.

Thank you to all the special people who supported this event. Michelle Beck said that Taunton has a 'unique spirit'. I am proud to say that this was much in evidence today. This poetry event was designed to promote Taunton and its future prosperity. It was a community event designed to highlight our Taunton Together Festival on September 28th of this year and the exciting visit of WOrld Art Games International in September 2025. Putting Taunton on the global map!
