Manning Trophy presented this evening to Mr and Mrs Green by the chairman of the council Chris Sivll.

Speech made by the Chairman:

This award recognises dedication, community spirit of those who go above and beyond and this years recipients truly embody all of that.

Peter and Val are a very deserving couple who have you given so much to our community over many years.

Their commitment, energy, and willingness to help have made a real difference to village life.

Peter of course is well known for being an absolutely, fantastic Santa bringing joy to so many, especially the younger members of our community and both Peter and Val have been incredibly active on the village hall committee. They are always ready to lend a hand and support when needed.

Val also does a wonderful job organising the monthly coffee mornings, which have been such an important part of the village life, bringing people together, creating friendships and strengthening our community spirit.

It's people like Peter and Val who make this village what it is.

🚸 We’re sure you’ll all be pleased the new pedestrian crossing is completed and the A153 through Tattershall is now fully open!

This crossing is something the residents have been asking for, for many years. It’s taken over 10 years of campaigning by the parish council to make it happen. Thank you to all our parish councillors past & present who have done their bit over that time. We’ve lost count of how many times this has featured on our agenda!

Thank you also to Cllr Tom Ashton & Cllr Sean Matthews for their support at County Council level.

The crossing is a “puffin (Pedestrian User-Friendly Intelligent) crossing” - this means it has sensors which will detect pedestrians.

It will monitor pedestrians position and pace while crossing, ensuring the traffic lights remain red if someone is crossing slowly.

It will also detect if a pedestrian has pressed the button but walked away or crossed prematurely, cancelling the request to avoid unnecessary traffic delays.

Thank you for your patience over the last few weeks. Now the community can enjoy using it and have a safe place to cross our busy road.

You may have seen the signage indicating there will be a road closure through Tattershall Market Place next week. This is so that works can be carried out to alleviate the flooding that occurs in the market place when we have heavy rain.

We appreciate road closures are inconvenient, however we are getting jobs done that the parish council has been requesting for a few years! Please bear with it! In the near future we will have a pedestrian crossing and a market place that doesn’t flood! 🤞🏻
Thank you for your patience!

🧹 Keeping Our Community Sparkling!

A massive THANK YOU to the Coningsby & Tattershall Wombles for their incredible hard work and dedication. It’s because of volunteers like you that our parishes stay clean, green, and beautiful for everyone to enjoy. 🌿✨

Thank you to all those who attended the thank you breakfast and to Morrisons Daily, the co-opertive and papworths for their donations to make it possible.

We also want to give a special shout-out to the team and little helpers from Dandilions Day Nursery and Kids Club! They joined us to kick off their new weekly litter pick, and we are so proud to see the next generation taking such pride in their community. 👣🗑️

From litter picking in the sun to enjoying some well-deserved cake (how amazing is that Wombles design?! 🎂 thank you Cllr Jacqueline Sarah Gravett ), it was a fantastic day of community spirit.

Let’s all do our part to Keep Britain Tidy! 🇬🇧
