Always be considerate to other road users!

Nuisance driving in the UK refers to the use of vehicles in a manner that causes alarm, distress, or annoyance to the public and is classed as anti-social driving.

The roads around the Parish can be narrow with poor visibility on our bendy country lanes, with unforeseen hazards around the corner. It is important to avoid speeding, driving aggressively or overtaking dangerously. NEVER ignoring traffic lights, road signs or warnings from passengers or pedestrians.

Watch out for animals in the road. When passing animals, drive slowly. Give them plenty of room and be ready to stop. Do not scare animals by sounding your horn, revving your engine or accelerating rapidly once you have passed them. Look out for animals being led, driven or ridden on the road and take extra care. Be alert for people who may be in the road warning vehicles that there are animals being herded up ahead. If a road is blocked by a herd of animals, stop and switch off your engine until they have left the road.

Please be courteous!

Can you help us?

I think we can all agree that the state of the roads and footpaths around the area is far from perfect. As a Parish Council we actively report problems as we see them and when they are reported to us.

We are asking members of the public to report any problems they see around the village on the Love Clean Streets app. It’s simple to use and your issue can be logged in seconds. You can report issues on your mobile whilst out and about. The app is free to download.

Simply search for 'Love Clean Streets' on the App store or Google Play Store on your mobile phone or tablet.

Download the app

Set Lancashire County Council as your home authority.

Attaching a photo to your report will help our inspectors to assess the work quickly.

You will also be able to keep up to date on the progress of your report via the app.

The app can be used to report all highways issues including potholes, problems with pavements, footpaths, verges or cycleways and blocked drains.

If lots of people report the same problem, it encourages the County Council to fix it quickly.
