Just a few weeks after our town was targeted by the neo-nazi group 'White Vanguard', Britain First are planning a visit to spread their hateful, white supremacist rhetoric on what they're dubbing a 'March for Remigration' 😑

We're pretty certain that the majority of residents don't want Tamworth becoming a stronghold for the far-right, so we thought we'd better shout our resistance pretty loudly so they get the bloody message!! 📣📣

Join our static rally by the bandstand in the Castle Grounds from 11am to make Britain First well aware they're not welcome here 💚

We are all united against fascism 💪💪

We condemn the hateful rhetoric on display in our town yesterday. Even worse is that the 'protest' goes directly against the Nowak family's wishes.

Over two years ago, Tamworth made national news due to the anti-immigrant riots spreading to our town. And more recently, there have been several attempts to keep pushing that narrative to divide our communities further.

Yesterday, far-right groups such as Patriotic Alternative and White Vanguard staged a protest in St. Editha's Square using Henry Nowak's name - despite the family's repeated requests for his death to not be politicised. And whilst it didn't achieve the rousing support it hoped to get, it still points to a worrying trend.

We all know where dehumanising language leads; it is crucial to challenge it at every opportunity. History shows us the dangers when our worst instincts are allowed to dominate.

And those like myself, who are in privileged positions of influence, have a moral obligation in public office to uphold values such as dignity, human decency, empathy, and compassion.
