The scheme offers:

➡️Help with finding grants and funding

💷Funding now available to support Tamworth charities and groups

Have you got a project or idea to benefit the local community?

Through the We Are Tamworth crowdfunding programme, Tamworth Borough Council has been helping local organisations get funding for projects that strengthen communities, support wellbeing, and bring people together.

It turns plans into action through a combination of local donations and council grants.

So far:
✅ 10 fantastic projects funded
✅ £85,889 raised (£31,968 from the council and £53,921 from other supporters)
✅ 450 Tamworth donors

🎶 Tamworth Community Gospel Choir – £6,140
🎨 Art of Tamworth Festival – £10,905

🧼 Hygiene Hub – £6,904
🌺 Glascote Community Farm - £1,498

The programme was made possible thanks to funding from the government's Community Recovery Fund and the Community Infrastructure Levy.

🔊Tamworth businesses, up to £1,000 could be available to help you grow!

Have you got plans to grow your business, improve productivity or invest in new equipment or technology?

The Business Growth Action Grant could provide eligible Tamworth businesses with up to £1,000 towards capital investment to help turn those plans into action.

To be eligible, you’ll need to successfully complete one of Staffordshire County Council’s specialist business support programmes:

🔹 Growth Ladder
🔹 Build and Scale

The programmes provide tailored support to help businesses identify opportunities, improve performance and plan for growth.

Once completed, you could apply for up to £1,000 towards eligible investments such as:

💻 Digital technology and software
⚙️ Machinery and specialist equipment
📈 Equipment to increase productivity or capacity
🌱 Low-carbon technology and improvements

📣 Places on the programmes are limited and grant funding is limited – so don’t wait!

Key dates:
📅 Grant applications close 2pm, 30 November 2026
📅 Approved investment must be completed by 28 February 2027

❤️ Local Plan topic: Healthy communities

A successful town isn't just about buildings – it's about the places and facilities that help communities thrive.

The draft Local Plan aims to support healthy, inclusive and sustainable communities by protecting and improving things such as:
🏥 Health and public services
🏫 Education facilities
🏘️ Community centres and halls
📚 Libraries
⚽ Sport and recreation facilities
🌳 Parks and open spaces
🌿 Allotments and community growing spaces
🚶 Safe and accessible public spaces

The plan also includes a specific approach for Glascote Heath and Stonydelph through the Pride in Place funding.

New development should contribute towards community infrastructure where needed, while existing valued facilities should be protected from unnecessary loss.

The plan says community facilities play an important role in day-to-day life, social inclusion, wellbeing and community cohesion, and seeks to protect existing provision while ensuring new development contributes where required.

🌱Can you help Wild About Tamworth volunteers continue their amazing work at the town’s beautiful nature reserves?

Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is currently looking to raise £16,957 through crowdfunding to help the volunteers conserve and improve these areas for the community to enjoy.

A total of £10,503 has already been pledged, but to receive the funds, the overall target needs to be reached within the next two weeks.

The funding would pay for improvements on a number of sites:

Hodge Lane LNR: Improving the entrance from the new housing estate, including signage and fencing to make it more welcoming.

Broad Meadow LNR: Enhancing the entrance from Oxbridge Way, including woodland improvements and increasing wildflower diversity.

Tameside LNR: A range of improvements, particularly focused on enhancing habitats for wetland birds.

Warwickshire Moor LNR: Development of two wildflower areas and improvements to habitats for moths and wetland birds.

Dosthill Park LNR: Improvements for pollinators around the butterfly bank, hedgerow management, and management of the wetland meadow.

The project is live on Spacehive as part of the We Are Tamworth programme, helping people improve their local community through a combination of donations and council grant funding.

A grant of £10,000 has been pledged to the Wild About Tamworth Spacehive campaign from the council’s Community Recovery Funding.

Have your say on proposed recommendations for a parish council for Tamworth.

The second stage of our Community Governance Review is now open.

Following the first stage of consultation, a cross-party working group of councillors has developed draft recommendations for a new parish council covering the whole of Tamworth.

The proposals include:

📍 One parish council covering the whole borough
🗺️ Five parish wards
👥 Three parish councillors per ward – 15 in total
🙋 Parish councillors serving as unpaid volunteers

The proposed wards would be called Mercia, Saxon, Anker, Tame and Peel.

The stage two consultation runs from 4 September to 4 October 2026.

These are draft recommendations and no final decision has been made.

A parish council is funded by a precept. This is collected as part of your council tax and would be an additional cost included in your council tax bill.
