Thank you to all who supported us in the local elections.
The Lib Dems remain in power on Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and a close second on Hampshire County Council.
We believe in having well-run public services, giving local people a meaningful say in their community and supporting those who need it most.

Kingsclere's LibDem Councillor Cllr David Conquest is organising a public meeting where Southern Water will present their plans for restoring the village's chalk stream. He will also launch the new Greener Kingsclere volunteer ecology group.

Chalk streams are a globally endangered habitat. There only about 240 in the world of which 80% are in England. Kingsclere has one of them, rising near the base of Watership Down, and we need to look after it.

If you'd like to find out about the restoration plans and get involved with the group - if you fancy clearing some weeds or counting bugs - then go along on 20th May and hear all about it.

Kingsclere's chalk stream, Gailey Brook, is suffering. Southern Water have plans to make improvements and I've been in discussion with them for the last year.

I'm delighted to announce a public meeting on 20th May where they will present their plans to residents. We will then also launch Greener Kingsclere as a new voluntary ecology group.

Everyone from the village and area is invited so please do come along. Looking forward to seeing lots of people there and I hope you will want to get involved.

This transcends party politics - our hospital needs renewing.

🏥 Our hospital rebuild cannot wait. I am leading a petition to bring forward the rebuild of Basingstoke Hospital and I will be taking our voices directly to Number 10.
